Please forgive if there is already a thread. Didnt see one.
Current Standings:
East:
Akron 3-1
OU 2-2
Kent State 2-2
Buffalo 2-2
BG 2-2
Miami 1-3
West:
Ball St 3-1
EMU 3-1
CMU 2-2
WMU 2-2
Toledo 1-3
NIU 1-3
I think the league comes down to Akron, OU, or Kent with Buffalo being the sleeper. If Akron is healthy and doesnt have anybody suspended, I like their chances. They upset Miss St, whose only other loss is to Baylor by 2 points, in the opener.
Key showdown today at 4 on ESPNU as OU comes to Akron. Game could prove important later in the season for MAC tournament seeding.

Kent may be the best team in the conference, but they are racking up too many close losses. If they can just turn it up one notch, they will win the MAC.

BGSU has outplayed both OU and Akron but lost to Akron on a buzzer beater.

OU has apparently stopped giving a fuck after their 12-1 start.

ok? I still think they are the 5th best team in the East. The East is tight.robj55;1052056 wrote:BGSU has outplayed both OU and Akron but lost to Akron on a buzzer beater.

Yeah...I'm scratching my head on this one. The Bobcats played Louisville and Robert Morris tough and now seem to be imploding.ts1227;1052318 wrote:OU has apparently stopped giving a fuck after their 12-1 start.

I dont really think they have much besides Cooper and Kellog. The big white guy is pretty decent, too. Seems they go as Cooper goes, though.

Yeah. I saw in the box score that Cooper was 2-15 against Akron. Teams don't win many games when their star guy shoots like that.

I still think Kent is the team to beat. We'll find out Saturday when they play Akron.

The Kent-Akron game will be on ESPN3, so I will get to watch it. My other school is Dayton. The Flyers play Xavier Saturday morning on ESPN2. I will also be watching that.

Ohio currently mopping the floor with Kent with 9:00 left... was only 41-38 at the half but a 21-2 run to open the second half has it a little lopsided.

I watched the game until it was 41-40. Then I fell asleep. What a shock I got when I woke up!ts1227;1058028 wrote:Ohio currently mopping the floor with Kent with 9:00 left... was only 41-38 at the half but a 21-2 run to open the second half has it a little lopsided.

Good. They need a couple good outings to make up for the crappy way they started the MAC part of their schedule.ts1227;1058028 wrote:Ohio currently mopping the floor with Kent with 9:00 left... was only 41-38 at the half but a 21-2 run to open the second half has it a little lopsided.

Ohio sold out the Convo today (13,080) for Gary Trent jersey retiring/Dad's Weekend/Miami game. Unfortunately some didn't make it due to the weather - lots of ice down that way.
Miami up 3 at the under 12.

Did OU students really rush the court against Miami?

Sadly yes. They do for everything. I bitch on bobcatattack about it every time and they're like "it's our rival!". Who cares, they suck right now and we were supposed to win. Just because we played like shit for 30 minutes and it ended up close doesn't make it a monumental court storming moment. They're good for 2 dumbass stormings of the court when OU is a heavy favorite per year (usually one is Miami). If only I could get my fellow alums to quit making bullshit excuses for it when I argue it afterward. No one will tell the students that they look like retards, so they keep doing it.
The O Zone is the best student section in the MAC, but they are just amazingly retarded when it comes to court/field rushing.
