Started reading them after Christmas. Finished Catching Fire last night, then looked up the movie trailer. Started reading it because my fiancee raved about the series, so I put it on my kindle and wow. Can't put the books down, going to start the last one tomorrow.

Anyone else read these or is a fan? This is the first movie Im excited to see since the Hangover.

Movie comes out March 23rd

I've heard about these books almost 10 times in the last two days. From what I hear they are about, I don't get it. I heard it's kinda for the Twilight crowd. Young adults, and kinda girly. I still might read one to see what the hype about, since you can download them for free, but not sure what to expect.

Oh and the Taylor Swift and Civil Wars song for the movie is pretty good.

My 18 year old daughter downloaded them on my Kindle so I read them. They were very good and I will most definetely go see the movie. They are very much geared toward the Twilight crowd. I was shocked to see a thread about it here amongst all you manly men.

Yeah I've heard about the books a lot lately as well. I will probably read them at some point just to quit having my fiancee tell me to read them lol. I've read Twilight and I doubt these books can be any worse than that was.

i read all three books....i really enjoyed them..it was a quick read tho. cant wait for the movie as well. if you like them you should read a chinese novel called battle royal which is where i think she got her idea. similar story but a much better story and much longer.

I've never nor will I ever read twilight, I watched the first to appease my fiancee, while I can see why Twilight is girly, I don't really see The Hunger Games as.

From the trailer it looks like the movie nailed it. I even had Woody playing Haymitch in my head, although he was wearing different clothes. Also they did one better on president Snow as I had him being played by the head vampire from True Blood

Never read any of the books, but I have a few girlfriends who have been raving about The Hunger Games for awhile now. After seeing that trailer, it does look pretty interesting. I'm sure I'll definitely see it when it comes out.

They draw the names of a boy and a girl from different 'countries' then put them in an arena type place and they fight to the death.

They do this once a year to remind the people of the country they are nothing but pawns for the government, because of an uprising years ago against the government by one district. The capital flattened that district and each year hosts this made for tv event to comemorate the event

Sounds like that one movie with Stone Cold Steve Austin a few years ago...Bunch of criminals on an island trying to kill each other on live TV, and the winner got set free....

It being "post-apocolyptic", is the only affirmation I needed not to read it.
