I'm curious as well I've been trying to move back to the Toledo area from pa for a while but I can't find a job where I make more or the same as I do now.

I previously worked for a chemical company, however it is an entirely different process than where I'm at now. The job is not necessarily a job that experience is required. This particular company has a 3 year apprentice program and they train you. But I am guessing that my previous work experience at my former job helped get me this job.

College degree is not required (although myself and many others that work in this field do have degrees).

Honestly, I got VERY lucky to get this job. Out of 3500 applicants, 13 of us were hired. There just isn't many high paying jobs like this in Toledo anymore. It is a blue collar refinery job, but it pays way better than any white collar job I have ever had or would have ever gotten. I really enjoy it because I can get up away from the computer and go outside to check on different equipment. There is a lot of freedom, not tied to a desk all the time.

It is a unique place to work. If you are interested in moving back to Toledo, this place is hiring all the time for different positions, not just operators (which is my job). It is the old Sun Oil refinery now called Toledo Refining Company. It was bought out last year by PBF Energy. Sunoco sold to these guys. Check theblade's website for help wanted. TRC advertises in it all the time. Other than that, I don't know of any other places in Toledo that are hiring that would be decent jobs worth making a move for.
