I've always assumed the WTC attacks were planned for 9/11/01 on purpose because the numbers 911 represented "emergency" to us.

Then, the other day I was reading and came across some stuff on the Pentagon and saw its construction started on 9/11/41, sixty years to the day before the WTC/Pentagon attacks.

It made wonder if this was just a coincidence or was it part if the planning. I spent a few minutes googling and also read that 9/11 is a significant day in the Middle East because something about it being the day that British rule started somewhere in the mid east, which I'd never heard. Not sure if that's even true actually.

What are your thoughts? Maybe we can discuss this until LJ gives us the definitive answer. ;)

It is a coincidence that all of that stuff happened on those days. Do you really think anyone would sit and think to themselves, "hey, look at this day, a lot of stuff throughout history has happened on this date, let's attack then."? No, it is all a coincidence, it makes no sense for anyone to coordinate an attack on a certain day just beacuse a lot of stuff has happened on that date in history.

Except that you don't know that for certain, but I appreciate you answering rather than just being an ass like raw dawg.

My question was simply asking what the general consensus was about the date being so coincidental with the emergency number 911 and 9/11/41, the day the Pentagon started being built. The actual answer died with the head terrorist who planned the attack.

Most people I've asked in the last few days answered 911, probably 4 out of 5.
