BR, I thought I heard Indy can spread that $28 million over the next 5 years..obviously assuming that Peyton agrees to that. So they don't technically have to pay all that right away--unless Peyton says they do haha

wes, I have always been high on Blackmon..I've said I've wanted him to be the pick for months now. The guy is going to be a top 5 WR..you need that!! I think pick6 was high on him, too, if I remember correctly.

Hoops, Luck, RG3, and Blackmon go 1,2,3...what the fuck do you even do there? lol that would suck ass

No one is going to give up shit for a LT. Someone MAY trade up to get a franchise QB, but not a LT.

One thing to remember .....

Last year, the browns used Jordan Norwood's father to check out Phil Taylor. (Norwood's father is a coach at Baylor)

If the Browns are interested, they have a direct line to someone who has seen the kid every day, how he practices and prepares, what kind of person he is away from the cameras, etc.

Norwood's opinions, reportedly, played a role in them drafting Taylor. They could use him again this year.

Easy answer: you draft whoever you think is the best CB on the board and give yourself a very, very good defensive backfield.

I'm in the camp that believes a good D-line will make your corners look good..no matter how good or bad they are. Look at the Steelers, I alwasy see Steeler fans bitching about their corners...because thye're not that good; but they are productive because their d-line is good.

They already have Haden, taking Claiborne would be a waste of a pick. Lets see, you have huge needs w/ OT, QB, WR, and LB positions...lets take a corner!

In the first round esp high picks I'm usually a fan of BPA. Claiborne is an even better prospect than Haden was coming out and would be nice but I think we have other needs. Haden took a step back this season IMO, he being cited as Matt Williamson's best CB in the league around week 7/8, btu really faltered down the stretch. Makes me think he had an injury we didn't know about. If Luck/RG3 are gone it'd be between him, Richardson or Blackmon and I'm still not sold on Blackmon being a top WR. I'd rather go elite Corner over a RB so I wouldn't be upset with him being the pick.

I would also take Claiborne if all 3 of those guys were gone. He may just be the best player in the draft.

I think Heckert will do his best to trade down in that situation. He's all about value and Richardson at #4 will be a MAJOR reach when he'll likely drop to the teens.

If it were me I would either take Claiborne bc I really think they need to upgrade at CB and pairing him with Haden would actually help out the D quite a bit IMO. If you dont take Claiborne, they can trade back a few spots and maybe take OL/DL with the 1st pick or maybe even take Jeffery with the 1st pick if they trade back to around the 10 spot.

If that would happen, I would do everything I can to trade down. I was big on these "super defensive backfields" when it first happened.. But look where they (jets, eagles) are this week. I think Skrine has the potential to be a solid corner opposite of Haden.

Exactly! You don't need shutdown corners...hell, Oakland almost palyed the playoffs a year after losing Asomugha where he never made it w/ the Raiders.

Defense is all about the D-line. You get a good D-line, the linebackers don't need to blitz and will help the secondary in coverage.

Not to mention, we have Haden...we have too many needs to be like "well we have one really good corner...lets have two!" when it should be "we have zero impact linebackers, lets get one!"

I agree. I'm a big proponent of building your teams from the inside out. A d-line that can get pressure will make decent CB's and safeties good. The Browns are one good DE from having one of the best starting d-lines in the league, which is why I would go DE over CB, if it came down to that.

They could simply add a RDE and a fast OLB to replace Fujita and I think they'd be fine on D.

Look at the AFC vs the NFC. The NFC is ALL about offense and their defenses are "meh." The AFC has a few good offenses but plays a lot of defense.

Which conference do you think is gonna win the Super Bowl, again, this year? LOAD UP on offense (mimicking the NFC), play "ok" defense, which they already have, and outscore the rest of the bastards in the division.

I agree, just don't see the talent pool at DE in this draft. I am not sold on Coples at all.

The raiders play in a horrible division. The Browns play in a division with AJ Green, Antonio Brown, Mike Wallace, Torrey Smith, and Anquan Boldin. Brown and Green owned Haden. If all 3 are gone you take Claiborne

Agree with this concept but want nothing to do with Coples. Would prefer Mercilus (late 1st). Heckert can find a defensive end "gem" in the 2nd round (see Sheard) if he needs to and there should be some good ones that drop to the 2nd round.

A good corner will not shut down a good WR. The only way a good WR will be shut down is if the QB cannot get him the ball...aka, a good d-line.

I'd love if they could trade down, let's say with Washington and pick up their 2nd round and 4th round picks. That would give the Browns 4 picks in the top 39(#6, #23, #37, #39)
They could add 4 starters to the roster immediately. I'd love to see Jeffery, Burfict or Hightower, an OT and a DE like Melvin Ingram in those 4 picks.

I'd also wouldn't mind seeing the Browns take a RB in the middle rounds. Maybe like Isaiah Pead or a similar type back.

I think I'd definitely want pass rush over a cover corner right now. The Browns have one guy (Sheard) consistently getting to the passer.

Agreed...rough year for d-line prospects, unfortunately.

Just build the offense in this draft, that's all I ask. I don't care how...just get an offense together.

Agree completely. I dont think the Browns need another top corner, just think he'll be the best player there at that spot. All I was getting at. I'd rather get the BPA than reach for a fucking RB. DE/LBer would be awesome but any at that spot seem like a reach. Also want nothing to do with that POS thug Coples. He hasn't played that great this year and when production dips I always wonder barring injury. I honestly think he's this year's Bowers.

I admittedly havent watched Burfict (or never noticed him)..and just watched some highlight videos of him. This guy is the next Ray Lewis/James Harrison. Would love to get him.
