Hopefully you'll bring some "gold" because God knows there's more than enough "wine-ing." ;)

BTW...OTA's start tomorrow. Hopefully Shurmur doesn't pull a "Mangini", splitting the QB reps 50/50 and Weeden gets the bulk of the snaps.

Hopefully he does bring some refs to these fucking practices at least.

Mangini did some things very well (discipline, cutting down on penalties, etc) but a lot of things were just flat out putrid (drafting <Veikune>, personnel decisions <old, washed up former Jets>)

Oh yeah, his idiocy outweighed the good things he did. The whole first draft pretty much guaranteed he was going to be fired.

I still liked his discipline as you noted. Teams with less talent have to be disciplined and can't afford to make stupid penalties or costly mistakes.

Weren't they the least penalized team (or one of) the year he implemented real refs at the OTAs?

How do you come in after that year as a coach, and scratch an idea that worked so well? lol shurmur shurmur shurmur...

Little patty boy was just being stubborn and wanted to do things his way. God forbid you use the one good idea mangini came up with as a coach.

Kellen Winslow says he’s done in Tampa, Bucs trying to trade him

Posted by Michael David Smith on May 21, 2012, 10:05 AM EDT

Kellen Winslow is on the way out in Tampa Bay.

Winslow, who has played tight end for the Buccaneers for the last three seasons, said today on Sirius XM NFL Radio that the Bucs have told him they don’t want him and will help him find the right team to trade him to.

If the Bucs can’t find a trading partner, they’ll likely release him.

Winslow has been a solid player for his three seasons in Tampa Bay, never missing a game and having more than 700 receiving yards all three years. But it wouldn’t be surprising if new coach Greg Schiano didn’t see eye to eye with Winslow on a number of things, including the fact that Winslow prefers to sit out practices to rest his bad knee.

Although Winslow said the Bears were engaged in trade talks about him before the draft, nothing materialized there. Despite Winslow’s enormous athletic talent, those knee issues may make it tough for any team to clear him to play. At age 28, Winslow doesn’t have a lot left.

Looks like Winslow is running into the same deal with Schiano that he had with Mangini. Frankly, I'm surprised old Evil Knieval lasted this long in the league.

Aboslutely, but I was thinking he was at least 30 years old by now. It's a shame. He had a lot of potential. The guy had a lot of passion.

Old Butch fucking him up by putting him on that "good hands" team as a rookie against Dallas just started his downward spiral....

Yup, that was very fucking stupid, but then Winslow didn't help himself either by being an idiot.

Examining who faces the most challenging season for the Cleveland Browns and why.

Hot seats in the NFL are typically reserved for head coaches and general managers. For the Browns, the heat is on team president Mike Holmgren.

The Browns added hope when they hired Holmgren as their top executive after he returned the Packers to prominence and guided the Seahawks to the Super Bowl. Rebuilding has been more of a challenge with the Browns, who have won nine games in Holmgren's two seasons. Instead of turning into a winner, the franchise has spun its wheels under Holmgren and the fan base is becoming skeptical.

This is a big year for the Holmgren regime because a potential franchise quarterback (Brandon Weeden) and star running back (Trent Richardson) were drafted in the first round to go with a top-10 defense. Holmgren has promised a "pretty good jump" for the Browns, so another four- or five-win season isn't going to cut it. It's time for Holmgren to erase past mistakes like keeping Eric Mangini around as head coach for a year and failing to trade up for quarterback Robert Griffin III in this year's draft.

Holmgren had a more immediate impact at his other stops. In Green Bay, he inherited a four-win team and led the Packers to the playoffs by his second season. In Seattle, he took over a team that hadn't been to the playoffs in 10 years and guided the Seahawks to the playoffs in his first season. The pressure is on Holmgren to show signs of a similar turnaround in Cleveland.
