I wasn't high on drafting Trent from the beginning at #4, but if it somehow means we don't get Tannefail or Weeden, then I am all for it.

I still think we will be trading down.

Anyone questioning whether we should take Richardson or not is significantly underestimating the impact he would have on our offense. We might actually be watchable, and God forbid might open things up for our passing game.

He can have more of an impact on this team for the next 5 years than anyone else we can draft at 4. That is why we should sprint up there with the card the second the Vikes take Kalil, and not try and overthink this.

When is the last time a super bowl winning team used a top 5 pick on a corner back (not one they picked up in free agency drafted by another team that high)?

Referring to your last sentence, don't know or care. We have had a decent running back the past two season in Hillis. Was our passing game "opened up" because of him? We need WRs, you know ones that can get open and/or catch the ball.

I dont mind drafting Richardson, just as long at the Browns pull off some magic and get Floyd or Blackmon. Either would be an immediate upgrade over anything we have now. Little has potential, though.

I'm most in favor of trading back and picking up Floyd, while getting another second round pick.

So Floyd at 6 and add a pick? I am not opposed to that....assuming the rams were interested

Guess my point was do you take the RB that you maybe get 4-5 productive years out of or think long term with a corner that can give you 8-10? I mean, I'm not going to climb up on a ledge (like if they take Tannehill) if they take T-Rich but I just think they can maximize the pick, maybe trade down, and do something like Tooth/Pick6 said. I think Floyd is going to be a better receiver than Blackmon anyhow.

Heckertt has said he has 2 guys chosen for that 4th pick. So I can only assume it's claiborne and trich/blackmon. If we don't have any takers to trade down, then we will be taking one of those 3. I'd be happy with either of them honestly, with richardson being my biggest target. Immediate offense and a safety valve for mccoy behind him. Claiborne would be my 2nd choice. Pairing him with Haden would be incredible. Blackmon the 3rd choice, as I still think he will be a great WR in this league, regardless of the comparisons.

I think tons of things will open up trade wise...if Kalil slips past Minny. Should be a fun couple of hours. Not that this would ever happen, but what if we have no trade partners and they take Floyd at 4? I wouldn't like it because I prefer Blackmon, but how does everyone else feel?

Meh. Floyd at 4 doesn't do it for me. I think people are really undervaluing blackmon. Nothing has changed over the past month to make me think he won't be a stud.

My only problem with Blackmon for the Browns, is that he is basically a better version of Greg Little, whereas Wright would be a compliment to him in our lineup. So I'd rather have Trich/Wright than Blackmon/Martin. From what I hear from the people who work this draft stuff for a living, Blackmon to Cleveland at 4 is nearly a 0% chance. But as we all know, no one ever predicts the draft correctly, or even close.

Wright sucks in my opinion. Don't want him at all.

I agree with this but it presents quite a dilemma as BR alluded to:

RBs get injured more than any other skill position, just look at Mendenhall and Leshoure to name only 2 BUT if you can get a healthy Ray Rice type impact player for 7 years, then I feel like you have to do it.

just read Peter King's mock in the current issue of SI. He had the Browns taking at #4 TRich, #22 Jonathan Martin, and then trading our 2nd round and 3rd round to move up 10 spots for the Patriots # 27 pick and selecting Weedon

Neither of them is a Larry Fitzgerald-esque type spectacular catch receiver, and Wright isn't THAT fast, so I don't think either of them compliment Little the way we want.

I'm not sold on a WR the size of Wright unless he's a really refined route runner or pure playmaker, and I don't see Wright as either but it wouldn't shock me if he becomes great

.

Richardson's left leg is a better running back than Peyton Hillis, and less of a b*tch.

As Iggy noted so well, you're undervaluing Richardson's impact. AP led the Vikings to the playoffs his 2nd year with a team QB'd by Gus Frerotte and and Tavaris Jackson. I'm confident that Colt is not worse than them. Richardson can have that type of impact. Offense is a lot easier from 2nd and 3/4 than 2nd and 7/8 and Richardson is a back that can average close to 5 yards a carry like AP.

Based on what? Most Browns fans were goo goo over Hillis a year ago, now he sucks.

Richardson is just a better all around athlete. Hillis, to me, was pretty one dimensional in his running style. If you got him turned sideways, he was screwed. He was only a beast when he got his shoulders squared to the LOS. Make him run wide and you neutralize him.

So I'm most Browns fans? I was never sold on Hillis. His running style is not conducive to a long career. He's much more suited for a Mike Alstott type role

For the people who got butthurt we didn't overspend in FA, this is from the mouth of one of the great minds in football Bill Polian
In today's NFL, success is built through the draft. The New York Giants and Green Bay Packers both built their way to Super Bowl titles from the stage at Radio City Music Hall.
Given the parameters of today's game, if you don't draft well, you will lack the foundation necessary to be a perennial playoff team. Free agency can help, but the value of a talented prospect obtained through the draft is far, far greater for an organization.

I'm really hoping we don't botch the opportunity in front of us with so many picks to play with

Like I said up above, Richardson reminds me a lot of RR.....only a little faster. Browns should take him at 4, and then package up to get a top wide receiver. Then with our luck, they will both get hurt and McCoy will get all the blame.
