Agreed. Not a good fit

Derek Wolfe would be a great pick in the 4th- 5th round. A very under rated player

Minnifield now to be a possible later round/UDFA pick after micro-fracture surgery?

Sigh. I was going to put effort into a response but you simply don't get it.

Makes sense, pretty sure Tony Grossi was pre-ripped the Browns last week for not taking him because they didn't take Mathews a couple years ago.

Grossi's such an idiot. That's failhook logic even I saw it.

I like that he is touted as an insider....like anyone in the browns organization would have anything to do with him after that twitter fiasco.

What I found odd was that I read an interview with Frank Minnifield asking whether he would like his son to play for the Browns. He said something to the effect of "it would be bittersweet. On the one hand, Cleveland is a great place but on the other I have my 'haters/detractors' in Cleveland and I wouldn't want to subject him to that."

Now my question is...doesn't anyone know a person who hates Mighty Minni? I don't.

What kills me is that about 90% of the guys on the OBR think he's a "kinder, gentler Tony Grossi" since he went to KNR. When I read his stuff he still comes off as a condescending prick to me.

I agree third round is a stretch, but he may very well be available at 37. Sorry just posting what I read. Here's the post below:

Kendall Wright - WR - Player

According to Pro Football Weekly, Baylor WR Kendall Wright is "parked in the third round" on a number of teams' draft boards after an unimpressive offseason.

There were rumors of an offseason weight gain for Wright, and his forty time at the Combine was slower than anticipated. "Randall Cobb was a lot better," one NFL evaluator said. "Wright is nowhere near as good with the ball in his hands and (Cobb) lasted 'til the back of the second (round). People are getting snookered (by Wright)." Wright managed only four bench-press reps, and Pro Football Weekly reports his body fat was 16 percent. Per PFW, it's "one of the highest percentages for a receiver in the past decade."

True, but on the flip side....he knew combine was coming up and he got lazy and fat.....

Same thing with Mike Adams....you know you are going to get tested, yet you keep puffing away...

I don't get how these athletes can't focus and train when they know a ton of money is involved

Wright will not make it out of the first round. He ran in the 4.4's at his pro day, and "the ball isn't heavy" so the reps on a bench does not matter that much. People put too much stock into this media hype since the season, but 90% of it comes down to the tape, and his film doesn't lie.

I would love to see someone that went in-depth about how mock drafts looked right after the season, to the actual draft and late mock drafts, and see which is more accurate on projecting players. So many guys either move up because of great combines or move down due to bad performances, so it would be interesting to me to see if most of the effects of the combine/tryouts were actually accurate in evaluating the players.

Minny and Top Dog were quite a pair. Browns were great entertainment during that era. Oz, Mack, Byner and Bernie...with weapons like Langhorn, Brennan, Webster and the ice cube. Great football team that fell a little short 3 years.

I have been saying all along that Chris Givens is the sleeper of the draft. I think he is a game changer. Also I would love to get Minnifield with a late pick. I think he is worth a 3rd rounder personally but I dont think he will be drafted till round 5

I've changed my mind...take Richardson at 4. He's the next Ray Rice only stronger and a little faster. Then....please....try to get a wide receiver....and another sleeper wide receiver in the later rounds.

Stephon Gilmore - DB - Player
NFL Network's Mike Lombardi reported on Path to the Draft Friday night that the Jaguars have a higher grade on Stephon Gilmore than Morris Claiborne.

NFL Films' Greg Cosell also stated in a Friday radio interview that Gilmore is a better prospect than Claiborne, the 2011 Thorpe Award winner. "He's a hot guy," Lombardi said of Gilmore. "I was told Jacksonville actually likes him more than Claiborne." Lombardi also sent Gilmore to the Jags in his latest mock draft. At this point, we'd be surprised if Gilmore got out of the top-ten picks, and No. 7 seems his likeliest destination.

Stephon Gilmore - DB - Player

"Several personnel sources" tell The Sideline View's Adam Caplan that South Carolina CB Stephon Gilmore is a realistic candidate to be drafted in the top ten.

Caplan is one of the most plugged-in reporters in the nation, and SI's Peter King, Dan Pompei of the National Football Post, and NFL Network's Mike Mayock and Mike Lombardi have all recently either reported or suggested that Gilmore is top-ten material. In Caplan's mock draft -- accessible at the link below -- he has Gilmore going to Buffalo with the tenth overall pick.

That's funny because I'm starting to change my tune on wanting Richardson at 4 as we get closer to the draft. After what the Browns did to Mendenhall last year I'm a bit iffy on using a #4 pick on a guy that you may get 4-5 solid years out of. This being said, it leaves me in a quandry because I wouldn't know what to do. Pretty much leaves Claiborne but I'm still hoping for a trade down.

For those who don't want Weeden for all of this "they reallly like me and have shown a lot of interest" talk, you can probably book it that they now WON'T take him...

I am absolutely fine with Richardson at 4. I am still hoping for a miracle and they draft him and then move up to 7 for Floyd. I absolutely love Blackmon, but I see no way that they draft him...at all.

I remember a point was brought up way back in this thread...when is the last time a top pick running back led his team to a super bowl??

Just something to think about.

No doubt, but you have to draft needs and there isn't a superbowl leading qb available unless Indy trades the 1st pick.
