He's pretty much a stronger armed Colt McCoy.

If we draft cousins....I am jumping off the I480 bridge

I'd rather spend a 5th rounder on Cousins than Tannehill at 4 or Weeden at 37 lol

That's a long drive to kill yourself. Just tie yourself to a cinder block and jump into Tappan

Cousins isn't worth that drive either.

Agreed, mainly because we didn't waste any top picks on those 2 dipshits.

Cousins sucks. I highly doubt he'll be there in the 5th, I've seen mocks with him in the 2nd/3rd.

Cousins will not come anywhere near the 5th round. He will go no later than mid 2nd round.

Oh ok, well if you guys say he sucks then he must suck. I mean he put up decent numbers with below average offensive talent around him and took a mediocre program to a lot of wins. Actually had better stats in his senior did than Brady did his senior year at Michigan.

No he sucks because he's not a good QB and lacks the skills to play at a high level in the NFL.

Also any time you start arguing with exceptions (Brady) you've lost the arguement.

For the record I don't think Cousins is going to be a franchise QB either, but I think he's going to be the most successful in terms of where he's drafted (which I still believe to be the 5th round). I think he'll be in the league a long time as either a Matt Moore type occasional starter or a Charlie Batch type journeyman backup....he'll last longer than Tannehill IMO.

It takes more than having the physical tools to play QB in the NFL as we've seen on numerous occasions. And it's not like Cousins lacks any of the basics (he's 6'2'' and has a decent arm).

No one the Browns can draft this year are going to be a significant upgrade over Colt McCoy either now or in the immediate future. Build up the rest of the team, and take a 6th or 7th round flier on a QB just in case you get lucky.

I wish Russell Wilson was about 4 inches taller...though he did throw behind one of the nation's largest offensive lines with little issue. Another name to think about that will be at a very low cost.

The kid from SD St would be worth a late round flier. I'd rather take him than a little guy like Wilson.

I just watched cousins make way too many head scratching decisions. I don't think he is smart or savvy enough for the NFL

agreed, I've seen Cousins play quite a bit in college. Every time I came away unimpressed and thought he didn't have what it takes.

Yes, Wilson is short which doesn't necessarily preclude him from a successful NFL career (see Drew Brees) but it cannot simply be ignored that he played and succeeded behind an NFL caliber NFL line in terms of size. Here are the numbers for Wisconsin's 2012 offensive line:

Ricky Wagner - Left Tackle - 6'6" 320lbs.
Travis Frederick - Left Guard - 6'4" 330lbs.
Peter Konz - Center - 6'5" 315lbs.
Kevin Zeitler - Right Guard - 6'4" 315lbs.
Josh Ogelsby - Right Tackle - 6'7" 330

That's about as close to an NFL sized line as you're going to find in college. If you're a short quarterback you have to be able to find windows and Wilson has shown he can do that. Intangibles, arm strength, and accuracy are what you would want in a quarterback and he played in a pro-style system and in cold weather. Can't say I'd complain if the Browns took a flyer. Very low risk, high reward move.

I like Kellen Moore. The reason I like Moore late is because his biggest strength is his ability to accurately throw anticipatory throws to make up for his lack of arm strength (not unlike Mark Brunell). The WCO is predicated on accurate passing, with emphasis on anticipatory throws, so I think Moore would be a good late draft pick to push McCoy.

Interesting tidbit about the Lindley kid from SDSU....his mentor/coach since 2009 has been none other than former Browns QB Brian Sipe.

That's fine if your team is playing in a dome or in warm weather, but to effectively play football in Cleveland, Ohio and the AFC North in November, December, January you NEED to have a strong arm to be able to put the ball through the wind and inclement weather. Like Kellen Moore but he's a terrible fit for the Browns IMO. Poor man's Colt McCoy.

You do know he played outside in Boise, Idaho right?

Lindley, Wilson, Moore, these guys obviously aren't long term answers at QB, but between the 3, I'd take the most accurate one just to see what he can do. I know his arm strength is weak, but if there is an offense meant for him to thrive, it would be the WCO where throwing the ball deep doesn't happen as often.

If you like Moore, Russell Wilson does everything bettter than him and has speed and a big arm. I like Wilson to be a possible starter in the leauge, pick him up instead of Moore. Moore won't last 2 years.
