I wouldn't mind the FO modeling the team like the Texans. Let's be honest here, Matt Schaub is a system QB, and plays very well in the system. Their running game opens up many big plays for Matt, and it makes it a lot easier on him. Along with that their defense keeps them in every game, and puts the offense in a great position to win.BR1986FB;1136721 wrote:I thought that too, and still want Richardson, but if the QB position stays "static', what's going to change? Defenses will now sell out for the run (8 in the box again because T-Rich will be the biggest offensive threat) and dare #12 to beat them over the top. Same old, same old. If you have a QB with at least the "threat" of a cannon, it's going to loosen up things along the LOS.
Now, I am not comparing Schaub and McCoy, and I am not saying Schaub is easily expendable for Houston, but you can't really think the guy could go on any team and instantly make them better. The Texans played pretty well with a rookie QB the 2nd half of the season.
I wish they would change up the preseason games a bit. At least don't matchup teams with regular season opponents.BR1986FB;1136722 wrote:Dan Murphy ‏ @ DMurph_BrownsPR # Browns 2012 Preseason Schedule: at Det (Aug 9-13), at GB (Aug 16-20), vs Phi (Aug 23-26) & vs Chi (Aug 29-30).
