Braylon had one good season, and is twice the athlete Blackmon is. My issue is that Blackmon reminds me of, IE very similar college game to Michael Crabbtree. Put up great stats, etc...can't produce at same level in NFL. He lacks any elite tools to make him worth the #4 overall pick in the draft. You draft a WR that high he needs to be AJ Green/Calvin Johnson IMO. Crabbtree's production hasn't even warranted a first round pick let alone top 10.

Sorry I'll be sure to spell everything out for you in the future so your feelings don't get hurt and you get up in arms over my opinion. I don't want to get called "faggy" again, really hurt my feelz.

Hasnt Crabtree battled injuries, hence the reason his stats are nothing spectacular?

He played in 16 games in 2010, managed 55 catches for 741 yds. 15 games this last season for 72 catches 872 yds.

Well I'm not normally a stats guy. I like seeing the product on the field and making my assumptions from there. He's a gamer for one. Each game he played in, he dominated. And the bigger the stage got, the bigger he performed. Two, he passes hte eye test. You watch him play, and you can throw out the 40 time. He makes cuts, and gets seperation. The whole 40 time, each year, is brought up in the draft, and people make a huge deal about it. Then someone who ran a 4.6 dominates the league and then all of a sudden the analysts/scouts/etc. start saying the 40 is not that important. It's just a circle of bullshit.

Also, if you want to add in stats, like you do so many times...

Blackmon's last two years..

2011-
121catches 1522yds 12.6percatch 18 tds
2010-
111catches 1782yds 16.1percatch 20 tds

Blackmon is the exact same build that Crabtree is. I honestly want nothing to do with him either. I think he will be a solid receiver but not top 5 worthy. I think Floyd, barring injuries, will be the best receiver in this draft.

Crabtree has only been in the league for 3 years and could still be pretty good. I'd say though Crabtree is kinda lazy in games compared to Blackmon who goes all out every play. It doesn't help Crabtree though that he's in a horrible offense for receivers

He missed the whole preseason last year. Who knows how much that impacted anything.

His reception totals and yards have gone up pretty significantly every season in one of the worst passing offenses in the league. I think he's a solid 70-80 catch, 1000+ yard guy if he stays healthy.

Look at who he's had throwing to him too. Alex Smith isn't exactly Tom Brady... I think Crabtree is overrated, but I think the offense they run in San Francisco, and the QB, have just a little to do with it.

It goes beyond that. Blackmon wants to catch every ball and completely dominate the competition and he has the competitive drive to get it done along with the WR traits necessary to do it. The stats and the highlights back it up.

Also might have something to do with the fact that Minny hasn't had a good QB since Favre went off in 2009. AP had almost 1400 yards and 18 TD's in that timeframe. The quality QB was the reason for their success.

For those that are rooting for Lil Colt to prosper and make it as a QB, you'd better HOPE that Richardson is the first pick and they grab a quality TE with either 22 or 37 because THOSE two things along with a RT, NOT Blackmon are what will help make him successful, which I'm still certain WON'T happen. With as much as he checks down/ throws short, those two type players will be his safety valves/life savers, NOT Blackmon.

And believe me, this is coming from someone who thinks you can be successful running by committee.

Packers-Grant, Saine, Starks
Patriots-Green-Ellis, Ridley, Woodhead
Saints-Thomas, Ivory, Sproles, Ingram
Too bad Colt McCoy isn't anywhere in the league of Aaron Rodgers,Drew Brees or Tom Brady. LOL good comparison fail.

You're trying too hard old man

I am not comparing McCoy to Rodgers/Brees/Brady (LOL @ even thinking that?)...just that if the Browns get a highly proficient passing offense in place, the running backs will produce no matter who they are.

This.

Our running back production would be so much higher if A. We had a qb that scared the defense B. If the defenses weren't stacking the box with 8 defenders C. If our team had some weapons that defenses were afraid of.

Who is the current QB for the Browns that is going to lead this proficient passing offense and running backs do not produce no matter who they are. Maurice Jones Drew,Steven Jackson and Chris Johnson produced despite their awful passing games. You used 3 teams with the 3 best QB's in the league as an example.
That is a fail.

Again, trying wayyyy too hard.

I don't know who this stud QB is going to be...that's irrelevant. I'm simply saying IF they get that QB in place, and have weapons at receivers, you don't need an MJD, S-Jax, or CJ to be successful. Those 3 RB's are all on pretty bad teams, that should tell you how important a stud RB is in the NFL.

I used those 3 QBs because they prove my point...wtf are you talking about? I could have named the Lions' RB's, the Chargers' RB's, etc.
