Nothing has changed! How much better is this team than the expansion team in 99? Sooner or later you need to take a fucking shot, the Browns havent done that and look where we are. Gonna get forced to overpay for some mediocre QB like Flynn or hope we suck bad enough next year to draft a guy like Barkley.

Wasnt there once an episode of Seinfeld where Jerry told George to do the exact opposite of everything he has ever done? Thats what this feels like. I just want to see them take a shot
There is a big difference between taking a shot on a particular player and mortgaging your future on one guy. Sorry, but the price was not worth it to move two spots. I really hope RG3 is a bust, because I will be sure to remind all of you about how badly you wanted to throw away 4 picks for him. Impatience isn't going to get this team anywhere. The more short cuts they try to take, the more likely they will dig themselves in a deeper hole. You guys just need to get over the fact that the Browns have sucked ass this past decade. Start living in the now, and quit letting the piss poor management of the past cloud your judgement.

Better than being the Cleveland Raiders and not even giving your team a chance to compete again. I don't think it's going to take 5-7 years either. You are just being a typical bitter Cleveland fan right now.

lol, I knew this thread would turn into a QQ fest as soon as I heard about the Skins finalizing a deal.

You are literally mad because we didn't give 3 first rounders and a 2nd to get a qb who no one heard of until this season? Come on..
We THINK they have a competent GM. Like I said, 2010's draft was nothing special. 2011 looks good but if they "stay the course" and build through the draft do you have ANY idea how long it will be before this team can even utter the word "playoffs?"

Pittsburgh has historically drafted well. I expect them to have a "blip" with the purging of their roster, on defense, but they will reload. Same with Baltimore. Cincinnati is already a couple of pieces away from taking over the division. They keep up this "slow & steady" approach, Pittsburgh, who will be in a position to be overtaken, will be reloaded by the time Cleveland is ready to go. OR they could strike now, grab some KEY pieces in free agency and compete THIS year....but that won't happen.

How have things worked out for both teams since thats happened?

And believe me, a few of us will run it right up your ass too as Griffin is lighting up the league while we're watching Matt Flynn throw 5 yard passes.

Will you "light it up my ass" if RG3 turns out to be good and the skins still can't compete because they gave up those chances to surround him with talent?

There are examples that can be used for both sides of the argument....

Where did trading down or going after a qb get us in the first 10 years of this team? Brady Quinn? Wimbley? Winslow? It got us no where because of shitty drafting and trading away picks. I like what Heckert is doing, and if he you don't like Heckert, then you shouldn't be a fan of the browns. He's had 2 drafts that i've thought were very good for this team. You are just blinded BR.

Agreed. Can't believe how quickly people forget about how we traded our #1 for our future "franchise" QB, and how that all turned out for us. That 2008 draft was sure a gem.

You mean the Redskins who are $40 million under the cap who can go get Carl Nicks, Vincent Jackson, Pierre Garcon, etc, etc to surround RG3 with in FREE AGENCY? For as crazy as he is, Snyder WILL surround Griffin with offensive talent.

Why couldn't we get all those picks from the Jets when they wanted Sanchez ? LOL!

A prerequisite to win a championship in this league right now is a franchise QB.....just sayin

Yup, its a foregone conclusion that all of those guys (including the "etc" all stars) will go to the skins for their $40 cap. Just like its a foregone conclusion that RG3 is going to be the greatest QB to ever play the game.

Nice you mentioned Winslow since Butch Davis told Roethlisberger HE was the pick and then pulled that shit trading up for Winslow. We wouldn't be having this conversation if Roethlisberger is Cleveland's QB.

You're REALLY going to compare Quinn to Griffin? Really?

As far as Heckert goes, I think YOU'RE the one who is blinded. Haden often got beaten like a drum. TJ Ward is an "incomplete." McCoy sucks. Lauvao will be a backup, at best. Hardesty can't stay healthy and Carlton Mitchell can't even see the field. That's just 2010. I liked the 2011 draft but if you thought the 2010 draft was anything special, YOU are blinded.

LOL...if you think the Skins are going to sit on $40 million, you're nuts. Their roster will look vastly different. Jabar Gaffney will not be their #1 WR this year.

No, I know snyder will squeeze ever penny out of it, but they won't get all the players you mentioned. Snyder will most likely overspend for one of them.
