The Spurs are retiring Bruce Bowen's jersey.

I'm not even sure what to say about that....

Elite defender though. Brought attitude to the court every game. Reminded me of a better Eric Snow with a 3 pt shot.

Exactly. He was an integral cog in the Spurs machine that was so dominant. Hall of Fame player? No, but neither is Z and the Cavs will retire his number because of his importance to the organization.

Don't forgot to add that their youth and athleticism allows them to take advantage when the other teams they're playing aren't giving 100% effort because of the compacted season.

Bowen isnt a HOF player. But I dont see whats wrong with retiring his number. Franchises can do that for a number of reasons, on is greatness (not Bowen), but one is because of what they meant and brought to the organization. I feel Bowen did this for the Spurs and their run. He was a very important player to the whole franchise.

I know, I know.

But when you think of getting a jersey retired, what do you think of? Greatness? Or importance?

I don't have a problem with it, just thought it was kind of far fetched.

Washington and Detroit are the two worst teams I have seen this year. Charlotte is in there as well. Common thread? Terrible front offices.

And Boston, playing without half the team, as beating up on the Magic.

I saw that, not sure how D12 fits into D'antoni's offense though

Rubio 2/10 6 points 12 assists.

There was a discussion on NBA TV the other day on if Rubio may have already hit his ceiling. They mentioned this because he's been playing pro ball for so long and likely has his tendencies/skill set ingrained so deep within himself that there may not be any "coaching up" left for improvement.

I don't buy that, the European game is way different than the NBA game. His jump shot has already improved a ton from last year, and the more run he gets the more comfortable he is going to get at playing in this league. His skill set may not get a ton better but he is still young and learning the NBA game.

Guy on the radio didn't think Mike would be HC much longer.. He thinks the Knicks try to bring back a former Knick player as HC... One who has won 2 titles as a Knick player and 11 as a HC.

Interesting, but I dont think so. Different game. He will figure out how to score in America. Now, his shooting may be ingrained, and not improve too much. But I doubt that he has hit his ceiling at 21.

Just wondering. How long had the others been playing pro in Europe? Dirk, Peja, etc?

Memphis has a really great core, if they can just figure out how to play Gay and Randolph together they are going to be very good in the future.
