I bought my son an iPod Touch for Christmas and want to load it up with apps and games for him so it's already done when he opens it. I know nothing about Apple products and their apps. What are some must haves?

How old is he? There are different apps that appeal to different ages.

This. He can iMessage other people with iPod Touches and iPhones/iPads. Look at "Text+" which is a free text messaging app.

He may like some sports apps. I have NBA Jam on mine, and I know there are some football ones out there.

10 year olds shouldn't own an iPod touch. Maybe you can find an app about being a good father.

Being a good father is actually something I can say I am. Nice try though. Care to explain what's wrong with an iPod touch for a 10 year old?

Thanks. Will definitely look at the NBA Jam app. He loves it for Xbox.

He's 10. Tell him to go outside. He can sit around on his ass all day and play with computer shit when he's your age.

Ahhh, I see. You come to the conclusion that he just sits around. That's what I figured, and you couldn't be any more wrong. He's allotted a certain amount of time for gaming and such each day. The big reason we got it though was for when we are traveling, which is a lot. But thanks for your concern.

I second NBA Jam, I have it on my iPad and play it regularly. It's $4.99 for the iPad, not sure for the Touch though?

Just use the app store on the ipod and check out the free ones. Some pretty decent games.
