I also suggested that by filtering a little more, maybe more people would enjoy the site. I mean, if there are 1% of people out there who won't come back because they don't like it, then why not try to keep that 1%. The site isn't meant to cater to 100% of people on the internet, it's meant to cater to the people who want what it offers. Not to keep changing on a whim when every person wants something to change. If you don't like what a job has to offer, do you take it so that you can just go there and complain every day, or do you take an offer that fits more what you want?

You can voice your opinion all you'd like, that's why I defended you on the other thread about banning you. But you get very confrontational when people disagree with your opinion. Maybe it's because they attack you, but you seem to invite arguments. JMO

count me as one of the minority, (tho not that much of a minority according to the people that voted) that would prefer to see less swear words on this sight. Only posting this because this is the thread for that---as many here have responded they (the majority) don't mind the swear words, in fact, many probably don't think many of the words even ARE swear words I would guess. I'm sure i fall into the more conservative element that visits the sight, probably right next to cats gone wild. It's been my experience that when someone like CGW expresses the opinions that he has, he gets blasted for "preaching" or being "holier than thou", etc. That's the reality of the world we live in. It doesn't hurt to make suggestions to try to brighten the broken world we live in, realizing that most of the people in that world don't want to hear any such suggestions and would just as soon "keep it dark" . That's not likely to change; I would guess he and I would agree on that. Even so, treating each other with respect instead of bashing isn't too much to ask. And I agree it goes both ways.
I tend to stick to the HS sports forums since that is really why I'm here, and am grateful that things there are kept pretty tame and conservative. I appreciate justincredible starting this sight, and keeping areas (like hs sports) that are "family friendly". Itappears the majority of the people are on this sight for other reasons, so if the majority want it as it is, so be it.

When it comes to "arrogant" (which I feel like I'm at least indirectly accused of being by you due to the tone of a couple of your posts), I'd say that it's a bit arrogant to use the forums on this site to promote yours (ie: the post where you linked yours so CGW and others could pay a visit to find a place with different rules concerning language, etc. on this thread), while simultaneously making comments to the effect that this place has plenty of room to improve. To me, that's essentially saying, "Hey doods! If you have any problem with how they're running this place, join mine!!!" and using Justin's server to do so.

As for the virus thing, I'm only going on the warnings I've heard others have gotten going to your site. If, as you say, there's no merit to them, the onus of proof is on you. I don't care if people get or don't get viruses from your site. I'm not a member of it. But if you want people to be members of your site and willingly visit it, it is your responsibility to make sure they believe your side of the story....and your side is the correct one.

I'm not saying I disbelieve you, but people aren't going to want to be part of a site when their computers are getting warnings from it.

We are approaching 40,000 posts on the serious business forum. The vast majority have obeyed the rule. Some have not. I voted yes because I think the vast majority of posters have kept in under control. I have spent a good amount of time on this site since it was started. I have read maybe a dozen that I would consider definite violations of the rule.

The more members this site gets the harder it will be to enforce the rule. Justin and the mods are doing their best to not be overlords. They would prefer we control ourselves. If it means a small number of questionable posts remain out there than so be it. But if it gets out of hand they will feel growing pressure to do something about it. I would not, however, "blow off" the 46% that voted no.

You are always going to have those who push the limits. If you see a poster being an idiot in obvious violation of the rules, call him out.

As for the "boobs" and "booty", I have watched commercials on TV and seen the same thing. Foxnews.com has links to the same type of stuff. Anyone can view foxnews from their high school library. As for JJ, check out the "hot or not" thread in the bleachers forum. Same stuff you see here.

And also, why do we even allow swearing on a sports site anyways? Do we really need it? Im on other sports sites and they do fine without it. So this was a site made as an alternative for the first crappy site all of us were on and now you're bitching about this?

There are enough people on here that are parents/aunts or uncles/guardians that it's still tasteful. I don't understand your concern for the booty or boob threads either. If you want to bring up the fact that this is a "sports" site and the cussing and "nudity" isn't needed here then you aren't very familiar with sports. I'm not saying sports couldn't go on without the two, but do you think there is ever an athletic event where there is no cussing? Heck, half the time they show a professional athlete on TV you can read their lips and it's very obvious what most are saying.

Also, as far as the nudity goes... Cheerleaders, even in high schools don't exactly "cover up". And have you ever been a subscriber to Sports Illustrated? There is an issue every year that is practically naked women.

I haven't seen anything on here that I either didn't hear when I was younger or saw. I mean, the Victoria Secret catalog has more nudity in it than I've seen on this site.
