I think both are similar in that Flutie wasn't accepted as a real answer for quarterback either. Yet, when he played he was a top caliber qb. He just wasnt given a chance, and no matter how much he did he was thought to be a backup.
I do think both are similar in that, once a defense has time to study them they will be less effective. Flutie, because of his size and Tebow because of his skill level.
