This is also the first team in NCAA history to receive a bowl ban with only a failure to monitor charge.

All these penalties for $9000. The NCAA needs to napalm the entire SEC if this is the precedent they are going to set.

I knew from being on past NCAA calls that this was coming. I've heard the type of people on the boards and panels and most don't know shit about sports. They usually come to their decision quickly agreeing with whoever talks first and then spend the rest of their time argueing over legal terms in the announcement. So basically if there's one person who wanted a bowl ban all they had to do is suggest it and pretty much everyone else will agree. The NCAA is a joke.

As a buckeye fan, I'm disappointed with a bowl ban. I didn't think we'd get one. But we deserved to be punished so I can be mad. The reduction of schollies to me is really just not a big deal at all. Maybe they add a 13th game next year like USC has done while on their bowl ban. Come out to Hawaii!! They have an open spot!! Lol

In the end, we got what we probably deserved.

Only thing I hate is that the guys who made this mess get to play in a bowl game, and innocent players won't next year.

I don't go there, but I've heard that Scout is melting down. Everything from Urban is a POS for lying to all these recruits to they should kneel every play at the Gator Bowl to they should redshirt all the starters who can....

It's sad, but such is the way of the NCAA. Until this year, offending coaches could escape to the NFL, make a boatload of money and have absolution (see Pete Carroll). With the unprecedented punishment meted out to Pryor and Tressel by Goodell, this might no longer be an option.
