Well, apparently Shurmur wasn't as dumb as we thought on that run at the end of the half that ran out the clock. When asked in his presser, Shurmur said "I would never call a run." Shurmur was yelling to Wallace "clock, clock, clock" as to indicate "spike the ball." Wallace, in his presser, admitted this and said HE called the audible (run play) thinking the Browns would "catch them off guard."

Nice to know. All of a sudden Wallace thinks he is Willy Beaman, and he can call his own plays. Shurmur should have benched his ass.

So assuming Indy does take Luck, are we focusing now on taking RGIII with Barkley not coming out? Or just take a WR/OL/LB, 2 out of the 3 with our 2 1st rd picks?

its gotta be RGIII. heckert has ties to deshaun jackson so i wouldn't be surprised if that opened up a little door to bring im to cleveland. i think the second first round pick is a wide out in either jeffery from south carolina, floyd from nd, or wright from baylor. lb or rt in the second round.

Like Mantooth said. A guy is a 7 yr back-up QB for a reason.

I would be fine with giving DJax a shot in Cleveland...think we have enough to try and get him and say Colston? Wouldnt that totally change things around having Little, Jackson, and Colston to go with RGIII? More than likely not even close to happening, but it's nice to think about.

Greg Little has had a better rookie season than Michael Crabtree did.

You guys might think I'm nuts but I think this team can play with ANYONE on ANY Sunday. Imagine how much better these guys would be if they had a "good" QB? Wallace has shown that he's nothing more than a backup but I gotta believe that had #12 been under center yesterday things would've gotten out of hand quickly and this game doesn't end up this close.

I'm also firmly in the camp of "bring Hillis back" but at a reasonable cost. I think that bridge may have been burnt though. When used PROPERLY (and when he stays HEALTHY), Hillis gives the QB a lot of relief and he'd be perfect as a security blanket for an RG3 or, dare I say, Luck until they can get their feet under them.

I am ok with Hillis, I see him as serviceable.

I do not want to see them draft Richardson.

Yeah, I was ok with Richardson until I saw where some of the top backs were drafted. They have other needs (quarterback) they can use that first pick with.

The fact is that feature backs (not named Peterson) are not exactly worth the price given the current state of the league (pass happy, strongly officiated against defense). Hillis while decent is expendable if the price is too high.

Well, I am afraid that since Richardson is from the SEC, I won't have good enough vision to witness all of his speed.

I agree if the price is too high.

And for the poster who keeps saying that Cribbs is the Browns best "weapon?" He's not. It's probably Hillis and there's a good chance he walks in the offseason.

Hillis showed yesterday he can still be a weapon. Although, there were a couple runs that could have gone for much longer if he had the ability to change direction or have a better burst. But, I still want no part of drafting a RB in the 1st round.

I'll agree Hillis can be when healthy. I'll also agree that Little can be. I still stick to my opinion of it being Cribbs, though.

Also, wake their lazy asses up.

I agree that Hillis is the weapon, and that HAS to change, as he becomes the defensive key in critical situations, especially with Shurmer's effin play calling. Going forth into negotiations this will need emphasized to he and his agent that he won't be the feature situation and he won't be when he goes elsewhere either.

He slipped on that one run and had a lot of real estate ahead of him. Also that screen pass that Wallace threw off his back foot would've been a 1st down.

As an FYI. If Jax beats Indy and Minnesota beats Chicago (very possible), the Browns would likely slide into the #3 slot in the draft. This would leave 1) Indy 2) St Louis 3) Cleveland.

Yeah, on the one where he slipped, that could have gone to the house. And it's not the first time it's happened this year.

And that scenario is very possible. Drafting 3rd would put us in a great spot to either use the pick or trade down for multiple picks.

the browns are definitely competitive...but the fact that just last week you were saying that they could be the worst team in the league kind of makes that claim bs. They aren't a good team, until they get playmakers. It just needs to happen. hell, we've been in almost every game this year with that offense. I can't imagine what we could do with a bunch of playmakers on the team. The fact remains, if we don't draft offense and then get some playmakers in free agency, it will be another 3 win season. Also..durpmur needs to get the f out of town.

Let's face it. Shurmer isn't going anywhere. And yesterday's game is proof enough that this team is close. They will address the offense this offseason and hopefully next year the close losses will go the other way.
