On This Date: In ’91, the #Cavs selected Terrell Brandon at No. 11 overall. In ’96, Zydrunas Ilgauskas was selected at No. 20...

GS would be ****ing stupid to take that deal.
I agree. If Chase Buddinger can get you #18, I would think that Andy and #24 could get you damn near the top 10.

With Gordon going to the Bobcats, it looks like we are guaranteed of having the chance to draft Beal or MKG. Probably MKG. It would be nice to trade up back into the lottery. Any combo of Beal,MKG,Barnes,Lamb and I'd creme my pants. I'm not high on guys like Moultire,

Back in the good old days! Brandon was a baller. Remember the days of Chris Mills, Bobby Phills, Tyrone Hill, Danny Ferry... I miss those days lol

Is Tyrus Thomas worth getting Brandon Beal?

06/27/12 7:42AM EST – Steve Kyler:

If the Cleveland Cavaliers want the #2 overall pick they may have to either take back Bobcats forward Tyrus Thomas or find a third team willing to do so.

The Cavaliers and Bobcats have been talking about a swap of the #4 and the #2 picks, with Cleveland potentially ponying up the 24th pick. After consummating their trade with Detroit yesterday it seems the Bobcats have changed their stance on the 24th pick and are now willing to consider a deal built around the #4 and one of Cleveland’s second round picks if Thomas and the $24 plus million he’s owed is offloaded in the deal.

The Cavaliers seem to covet Florida guard Brad Beal and are trying to move up to grab him. The Bobcats believe that Thomas Robinson, the player they are likely to draft with the #2 pick could still be on the board at #4. League sources say several teams with multiple picks in the first round have contacted the Washington Wizards, knowing full well that if Beal is gone when they draft at #3 that Washington’s interest in Michael-Kidd Gilchrist, Robinson or Harrison Barnes is limited and are making overtures on a deal to land Robinson with the #3 if Beal is indeed gone at #2.

Things are getting interesting with the #2 pick…

Maybe for Brad Beal, not sure about Brandon

If we can keep #24, then yes. I can't see the Cavs going out and bringing in any free agents this year, so the cap space that Thomas would take up wouldn't be a big deal. If Gilbert is willing to take on the salary then they should go for this deal.

How long is Thomas' contract? If it is off the books after this upcoming season, that trade is a no brainer.

He is signed for 3 more years at approximately $8 million per. He definitely has a shitty contract, but if the Cavs want to make a move in free agency before his contract comes off the books they can move AV to make that happen. Thomas would be a solid back-up for Thompson at the 4. The dude is still only 26, so its not like he is breaking down physically, he just hasn't lived up to his high draft spot.

Beal makes me nervous due to his size and lack of college production.

He measured in at 6'3.25" w/out shoes, 6'4.75 w/ shoes. 6'8" wingspan. He is bigger than Eric Gordon, Avery Bradley, Monta Ellis, Russell Westbrook, Gilbert Arenas and Marcus Thornton. Same or similar size to OJ Mayo, D-Wade and Rodney Stuckey. He also rebounds great for a guard. His size doesn't bother me. His lack of production is puzzling. It may have been due to playing with 2 chuckers in his backcourt and only getting off the 3rd amount of shots on his team. Or maybe he is overhyped, that's the question hopefully our scouts know the answer to.

Also, Terrence Ross is in Cleveland for a last minute workout per Chad Ford. Interesting, as he isn't projected to be an option at either #4 or #24.

He's definitely the #2 or #3 best player in this draft.

With that said, no way I want TT.

Hopefully this means that the Cavs are working on getting another draft pick.
Take MKG at 4
Use a combination of #24,#33,#34 or Andy to move up grab Ross.

Kyrie
Ross
MKG
TT

Could be a very solid core to build around

Heard the Cavs offered #4, 24, 33, 34 & Tristan Thompson to move up to #1. Cavs were rejected by the Hornets who opted to trade with the Washington Redskins.

I like Ross, but only if it means we're trading up from 24, not back from 4. And If we're doing that we should do it for Lamb.

Same. He wasn't the best at anything, but he was always a solid role player.

There has to be some way the Cavs can package 24 33 and 34 to move back into the lottery. This team needs talent and the talent is in the lottery. If Kidd-Gilchrist falls to 4 we'd be stupid not to snatch him

Syracuse's Dion Waiters could be in play at No. 4 to Cleveland, according to those close to Waiters. That would shake up lottery a bit.

No thank you

Still think it has to be Beal or MKG. Beal is probably the more immediate help, but I think MKG just has the "it" factor and leads by example and can be a big piece to a title run. Has talent and all the drive in the world, just see no way he fails.

Also, I think he's a great compliment next to Kyrie. Has no problem not being "the man" and will do whatever necessary to win. With Kyrie and MKG I think they just need one more high level player and can really compete in a few years. Some better depth would help with that too though. :)
