I don't think Dwight gets to free agency, but even if he does there are other teams that I think are more attractive destinations with cap space available for next season. OKC, Dallas, Indiana, New Jersey (if they could resign D-Will, which I'm sure they could if they got Dwight).

Not that the Cavs future isn't bright, but Westbrook/Durant and D-Will/Lopez/top 5 pick are more attractive than Kyrie/TT/top 5 pick.

And of course, that's from a strictly competitive viewpoint. Not factoring in that nobody will want to come to Cleveland.

Hypothetical discussion. It's not going to happen.

Also, Kyrie will be the superstar PG. duh.

No way Dwight comes to Cleveland under the usumption that the rookies will be good. Not many young teams win rings, hate to break it to you but look at OKC. Even with Irving and Howard and a hypothetical Barnes that team still isn't as good as OKC's current team IMO. Plus they're battle tested in the playoffs now. You'd be asking a lot of those young players to come in and perform at a championship level which doesnt happen over night.

How many young teams win rings?

Too funny. This was my exact email to someone yesterday about the Cavs:

I know this has no chance of happening, but think about this for a minute. The Cavs have $36.2 million in contracts for next season. They also potentially could trade Varejao and decline Boobie’s option for the 2012-13 season. The Cavs will have anywhere from $23-$34 million in cap space entering next season. They also should have a top 10 pick(hopefully top 5). Can you make this pitch to Dwight Howard and Eric Gordon?

PG – Kyrie Irving – looks like he has all-star potential. Is a great creator of offense, could you imagine the lobs from Irving to Howard?
SG – Eric Gordon – come and dominate as our leading scorer. You would have a great PG to play next to that would draw attention. Gordon can score 20+ a night. Plus, we just drafted…
SF – Harrison Barnes – NBA ready. Great size and stroke, still developing his game on the perimeter but can knock down shots and defend 3’s
PF – Tristan Thompson – Will do the dirty work for Howard. Blocks shots, rebounds, runs the floor, potential to be a borderline all-star 4.
C – Dwight Howard – LBJ was a king in Cleveland. Had endorsements, money, fame, etc. This starting lineup is young and has a legit shot to take down the Heat. He doesn’t have to be the man on offense, just do what he does. Protect the rim, rebound, throw down nasty dunks from a great PG.

Fuck the big 3, we would have the big 5.

Thats not the part I was asking if you were joking. Everyone knows that D-Howard is not coming to Cleveland. It was the "if he is really serious about winning a Title he would come to Cleveland" statement and the "superstar pg". Both are laughable right now.

As long as you Cavs fans are posting "It will never happen" stuff why not add Blake Griffin and Deron Williams coming to play at Cleveland too for the league minimum just so they can win a Championship?

Again I have to ask...how is this guy not bant from this thread?

If Justin/mods actually want this thread to attract traffic, you'd keep this guy off this thread.

To stay on topic of stuff I know won't happen. The Lakers will not make it to the WCF w/ Kobe firing up 29 shots a game.

Exactly...every time someone posts something positive (or potentially positive) about the Cavs, you mock it. It's clear trolling. And it also makes you look like you have no life. Just STFU and let Cavs fans talk about the Cavs, and you can talk about the Lakers and blackberries or whatever the hell you Lakers fans like to talk about over on the NBA Chatter thread...although that's a good thread, so maybe just make a Lakers thread and you and 2quick can chat on that.

Signing Griffin and Williams for the league minimum fits under the salary cap too.

Hope this helps.

Kobe averages 22 shots a game.
Kobe won 2 straight NBA Titles and 2 straight Finals MVP's shooting 22 times a game.

Hope this helps.

If you can convince the Clippers to release Blake Griffin it might help. Otherwise he will still be under contract next year.

first off its Casspi. He is kind of MIA at times, but I like his overall game. May not be the starter in the long run but teams need players like him.
