Ehh it bothers me a little in the sense that I believe a true competitor should want to fight the best. I see his point though but I would respect him more of he did want to fight the best. Btw I'm a huge jones fan.

I just don't like how he's basically saying "I'm afraid to lose"

You don't pick your fights, your boss does, if you want to turn down fights give up the belt.

Jon Jones has already faced murderers row at LHW, I highly doubt he fears Anderson Silva who he is much larger than, way more athletic than and longer than.

Dude is either worried he'll lose the fight or just a narcissist.

As far as we know, he hasn't turned down any fights. He is making comments to the media who are asking ridiculous questions.

He also isn't turning down any title fights. He is shrugging off a fight with a fighter that either a) one fighter moves up a weight class; b) one fighter moves down a weight class; or c) both fighters move to a catch weight.

I assume that if the UFC powers picked Silva v. Jones fight, then it would happen. Meanwhile, the media and the UFC spectators can just enjoy watching Silva AND Jones in their respective weight classes fight whoever wants to try and win their belt.

Jon Jones would beat Anderson Silva, impressively. Anderson does not possess the TDD to beat Jon. Lyoto was a tougher match up for Jon because his TDD is way better than Anderson's and Jones still took him down and messed his face up with that elbow.

I want to see it to, it would be massive and one of the biggest fights ever. Let's not put this all on Jon though, Anderson straight up said he doesn't want to fight Bones.

It's a lose lose for Jones - bigger buy beats older smaller guy. Honestly, Anderson has so much to gain from beating Jones. He cements his legacy as GOAT and makes it so Jones could never beat his legacy. If they don't fight and Jones wins the HW title, he'll surpass Anderson cause he topped 2 divisions. Anderson has less to lose and everything to gain.

You should be placing the blame on Anderson the. For saying he doesn't want the fight. Also there's not much of a weight difference. Andersons said his normal walk around weight is between 220 and 230. Bones normal walk around weight is 235. Anderson just cuts more weight.

Nor does he talk about his greatness all the damned time. Jones is like Lebron in that regard. They're both really fucking good but they're douchebags about it.

Worked from home tonight watched the UFC on Fuel online. Not a bad card. Munoz got rocked by that elbow and what a late stoppage took some late shots!!

Chris Weidman is a stud, absolutely dominated Munoz, Mark didn't even land a significant strike. That elbow was beautiful, late stoppage by the normally very good Rosenthal. He many be able to give Anderson everything he wants with his wrestling, athleticism and dominant and fluid ground game.

I think he was just giving Munoz every possible opportunity to recover. Yes it was late, but at the same time there was a lot on the line for Munoz.

Wiedman had the nice KO, but his ground game looked phenomenal. Munoz is a D1 national champion and Wiedman took him down at will and his ground transitions to submission attempts were very nice.

If Chael's ground game is good enough to push Silva to the brink, Wiedman's can beat Silva.

Munoz probably had some cobwebs from being hurt, but none the less i did not expect him to get dominated like that. The only other Wiedman fight i saw was against Maia on short notice so i had no idea how good he was. He took Munoz down at will and made it look easy and transitioned to any position he wanted with ease.

I would rather see Silva fight Jones, but i think Wiedman would give him a run for his money.

Beating D. Maia on 2 week notice (having to cut nearly 30 lbs in 10 days is crazy) showed me that Wiedman was for real. I know he gassed near the end of that fight and it was only by decision, but that can easily be attributed to short notice.

That's the only fight i saw of his, was impressed he won but didn't get to see his real skill. He said after the fight if he get s a full camp he finishes fights, so depending on how Lombard does, I'd like to see Wiedman get the shot. If Lombard wins i'd like to see him fight Vitor.

Maia has only been stopped once in his whole career (Marquardt). Silva didn't stop him, Munoz didn't stop him, so I don't fault Wiedman for not being able to stop him, ESPECIALLY on 2 week notice.
