Uhmmm, Wooster just got rid of a staff very similar to the talent level you proposed.

Yes, the 4th play is that pass where we just chuck it down the field to one of our athletes and hope they catch it. You know which one I am talking about. Its the same one we have ran for 25 years now, but it only works 2% of the time.

It sounds like some interesting candidates for the Wooster job.

I guess who the Generals pick will say alot about what they are looking for-

Haas & Solis seem like hired gun types to me. Both are good coaches but Haas always is looking to find a better gig and Solis left Shelby because the cupboard is bare. The Whippet program has struggled Jr High on up lately, so they're in for several more rough years. Solis gave WMFD a great story about needing more family time but if the program was stacked, my guess is he would still be there.
I think either one could excel at Wooster with the talent that's coming. The question is, will they hang around for the inevitable rough stretches most programs endure.


Seder & Durbin appear to be guys looking for a shot at running a program. Both have alot of potential upside. I'm hoping the Generals take a shot on one of these guys. If lucky, maybe you get the long term, tradition building coach every program wants. The again, maybe you get McCreary 2.0

I put Besancon in the Haas/Solis category only on a smaller scale. I think his chances are very slim

the other guys- I doubt they even have a real chance.

There's always a chance on an up and coming guy like Durbin becoming a short termer and always looking to move up and on, but alot of young coaches do that. But who knows, he may have other plans. I hope the new hire will be dedicated to building the program and not looking to leave soon.

Actually Solis did not leave Shelby because of lack of talent, his decision to step down temporarily came after his special needs child was diagnosed. He married a Wooster alum and from what I understand, he is looking to stay put.

My question with Sedar is, would he be able to make a fairly quick transition from Texas to Ohio to get the program going and put together a good staff.

I'm undecided about Haas. This seems to be a lateral move from a D2 school in a good league for another D2 school in a good league.

I believe Haas lives in Wooster and I know he is married to a WHS grad, so maybe Wooster is THE job for him.

Haas is the only one with a lo sing record. Moves every 3 years. Wooster is too big a spot light for him. From my knowledge not a good discipline or hard worker. Has two young boys to deal with and people from lodi say he does not do much extra for the program.

If Seder is anything like his brother he is the best bet.

I agree I think Seder is the WOW factor in this and would be the correct hire. Wooster needs somebody that can ignite their program the talent is there.

I'll have to agree that no, Haas is not in this for the long haul. I don't know about appying for McKinley, but he did apply for the Twinsburg job last year. There's nothing wrong with that, moving up and onward is what young coaches are known to do. But Wooster needs someone willing to stick around and move this program up and onward to success.

Interviews are on-going. There are two parts to them. The sit-down interview segment, and then the sideline fashion segment.

All I know is his brother did things the right way at Waynedale for 15 yrs. You would think two apples wouldn't fall too far apart from the tree. Bill is still in the area and would be a valuable resource.

I think the fashion issue can be addressed in the interview..
