I prefer to keep a Desert Eagle.


I'm 15 kills away from getting the gold camo for it.

I actually sold my Desert Eagle recently. It was just a 9mm though.

Any thoughts on Ruger LCP .380? I like the size of it. Don't like that it only carries 6. Also, thought's on .40s? I saw a couple mention the G23...how well does it conceal IWB?

I mentioned the G23 but the G27 is the baby Glock. IWB the 23 should be fine as well, in Ohio it would work well because you do need a cover garment that at least covers your belt. If you were living in Arizona, maybe not so much cause the heat.

There are hundreds of different holsters, you really just are going to have to try some with whatever gun you are thinking about.

Glock 23 is about the same size and 1 oz heavier than the Glock 19. The difference is the 23 model is .40 and the Glock 19 is 9mm.
I was very set on buying the Glock 23, but after researching both weapons, I realized that the Glock 19 is the better fit for me personally. They both have the same size, but the 19 is lighter (which was important to me). The .40 packs more power, but both are reliable and lethal if need be. 9mm ammo is much cheaper than .40 though, so for me, economically the 19 was a better choice, especially when you are firing hundreds of rounds, the money adds up.

I am not an expert by any means, however, I have some experience. Glory Days and LJ would probably be better for answering questions you have, but I can answer with my own personal experience. .22 is lighter than 9mm and generally less bulky. 120mm is my specialty.... for the zombie apocalypse, i'd go with the cannister round. about a thousand 3/4 inch tungsten balls would take care of any zombie wave.

not a fan of Glocks in general. you should look at the S&W MP. i like the grips, sights, and trigger much better.

biggest pet peeve is the trigger. hate the double trigger, i like a smooth steady trigger pull(even though the MP has as a similar set up, its much smoother). the sights are weird too, its like you have to aim low instead of just lining everything up. and then the grip isnt the best angle etc. plus you cant change the grip, the MP comes with 3 different sizes you can switch out. the gun just feels off balance in general too, top heavy etc. i carry the Glock 22 on duty, so i deal with it because i have to. i liked the MP much better at the other department i worked at.

and even though it shouldn't be an issue, i dont like the fact that part of the break down process is pulling the trigger.

Everybody has their preferences, which is why I suggested, as you did, do Webfire to research and try out different guns.

I plan to do just that. We have a couple gun shops in town, and I also know a couple guys with an array of handguns.

My reason for starting this thread was to narrow the choices down some and see what others liked and disliked. Thanks to everyone that contributed.
