Short week.

Steelers will look to keep the pressure on the Ravens in the AFC North race.

It looks like the Steelers could have a chance to clinch a playoff berth when they play San Francisco on Monday night -- before the final two weeks.

First, they would need to beat Cleveland and San Francisco. That would put them at 11-3 overall and 8-3 in the conference.

N.Y. Jets are 7-5 overall and already 5-5 in the AFC....if the Steelers are 11-3 and 8-3...there is no way the Jets can beat them out based on conference winning percentage as the Steelers finish up with the Rams and Browns. They could only be 8-4 in the AFC at worst.

Cincinnati would not be able to beat out the Steelers if the Steelers get 11 wins.

Tennessee is 7-5 overall and 5-4 in the AFC...they lost to the Steelers so most likely would lose out even if both teams finish 11-5 but for good measure a Tennessee loss to New Orleans next week would take 11 wins out of the equation for them.

Oakland is 7-5 and 5-5 overall....if the Steelers are 11-3 and 8-4, the Raiders can't finish with a better conference record...plus the Raiders play at Green Bay next week.

If Oakland has six losses, obviously they could only finish in a divisional tie if Denver also finishes at least 10-6...so Denver wouldn't matter they'll either finish as the division winner or 10-6.

so to recap:

Steelers beat Browns and 49ers
Titans lose to New Orleans
Raiders lose to Packers

that should do it...with still two weeks to go

Steelers have played down to the competition this season. Close game, but the Steelers pull it out.

Local broadcast stations for this game: (each home market is able to show NFLN games on one station, whoever bids the most)

Cleveland: FOX 8 WJW
Pittsburgh: CBS 2 KDKA

Steelers rolled against the Bengals.

They rarely have games like that.

They'll come back with a clunker on Thursday. They may win but not by more than 10.

does pittsburgh currently employ a running back? if the answer is yes, they win by least two touchdowns

I think our only hope for a Baltimore loss will be San Diego.

Chargers are 4-7 but if they win the next two against Jacksonville and Buffalo they'd be 6-7 with a chance to be 7-7 if they beat Baltimore.

Denver plays New England in their next two and Oakland plays Green Bay in their next two so most likely both teams will only be 8-6 at best.

Mendenhall hasn't historically gashed the Browns defense. I'd be more afraid of what TheRapist, Wallace & Brown will do to them. Joe Haden is usually solid in coverage but won't be able to keep up with Wallace speed and Brown will run circles around Sheldon Brown.

Unless the Browns can get ANY pressure on #7, the Pittsburgh passing attack will dice the Browns secondary like a Ginsu.

I'm sure Woodley will be out. They'll give him two more weeks and hopefully he's back for San Francisco on Dec. 19.

Redman is the type of runner that can punish the browns. The Steelers have used him more this season in different roles.

Now Redman is a different story. Mendenhall is soft though.

I'll DVR it and watch if there's a surprise. Mostly, I do this because I expect another beatdown and simply don't want to watch; and partially because I hate NFL Network games and their announcers.
