Hokey can always find a couple of kids in Ohio that are like him when he was in high school. Just like Hokey, some teenagers in Ohio just have to be different. Hokey even admists it. His parents, relatives and friends were all Ohio State fans. He was one of those wierdos that just had to be different. It wasn't so much that he liked Michigan from birth, he just couldm't like Ohio State ONLY because everyone else did. So he picke Michigan out of a hat to like insted of going along with the crowd and being an Ohio State fan.

Michigan gained a commitment today, but with a twist. OL Dan Gibbs (6'7" 320) committed today as a preferred walk-on. He is a local kid who has always dreamed of playing for Michigan. There was some chatter about a scholarship offer last week, but honestly he isn't worth a scholly right now. He'll definitely be a project.

He is big, but I wonder if there is a lot of bad weight. He is trying to drop to 285 for wrestling season. And his max bench is listed at 275 lbs.

"I gave a little bit to what's his name, Dodson," Pipkins said. "He ran away from me. That's what they do. They run their mouth, and then when they meet up with the belly of the beast -- I call myself that because I am -- then they run away. When it comes to reality, they want to run away."

Pipkins, who grew up in Saginaw, Mich., but now lives in Kansas City, also stirred things up when discussing Ohio State in general.

"Who are you talking about?" he said. "Are you talking about those people down south? I don't want to give them the time of day.

"We're going to see them Nov. 24 at that 'Shoe' (the nickname for Ohio State's football stadium). In the next couple years, we'll see them at the Big House (Michigan Stadium), but it's just going to be like it was last year."

The Wolverines won last season, 40-34, in Ann Arbor, breaking a seven-year losing streak to Ohio State.

Now the Buckeyes have some bulletin-board material from a guy who has never played a down of college football.

He definitely likes to talk. I have a feeling Hoke is going to put the chokers on his twitter account pretty soon.

How is what Pipkins said any different than Ohio fans using tSUN and refusing to call Michigan by its name? Seems like Ohio has been doing it for years but as soon as one UM guy does it all of a sudden it is disrespectful and bulletin board material.

Ohio players talk trash about the game all the time too.

This is why Ohio fans are the worst...everyone else is horrible and their crap doesn't stink...or at least they think so.

It always makes me laugh when Ohio fans talk about how other schools have a superiority complex. Ohio and its fans are the originators of that with the whole "THE Ohio..." crap. Ohio players and fans are as arrogant as they come.

It's also funny how for years they bashed Urban Meyer and everything he did as a typical SEC guy...but now he is welcomed with open arms. Yet another example of the hypocrisy of an Ohio fan.

I didn't know Bobcat fans had that kind of reputation. I always thought they were the good time, partying types, and I always got along with them quite well. Anyway, thanks for the post--it was very enlightening.

I actually have no idea. I think, as long as they keep it clean and don't personally attack another player, that it's all in good fun.

Good thing the ESPN 150 is a joke. How does someone who can't even produce in high school ranked at 115. Don't get me wrong Taco has a high upside but he hasn't done anything on the field to warrent the high ranking. /rant.

I read the thread. Rarely post. But taco in the 150 really is pretty funny. He sent good enough to play full time at pick town but he's a 150 player. BUT espn rankings are soooo bad it's not that surprising.

Michigan has a hell of a class so far. Pretty close to max now right?

They are at 17. I've seen many predict around 22-24 total.

Michigan picked up a preferred walk-on QB in Detrout Jesuit's Brian Cleary.
