This is the most open race in recent history. Voters get to rank three players on their ballots. If you were a voter, what would your ballot look like? Here's mine.

1. Robert Griffin III
2. Tyrann Matheiu
3. Monte Ball

Here is how I would rank the rest of the contenders.

4. Trent Richardson
5. Matt Barkley
6. Andrew Luck
7. Case Keenum
8. LaMichael James
9. Kellen Moore
10. Justin Blackmon

REMEMBER: The specific criteria given to actual Heisman voters is to vote for who they believe to be the "most outstanding player in college football this year." Keep this in mind while filling out your list.

3. Andrew Luck

Tyrann Matheiu is an insane addition...plays well but let's face it he's about as stupid as box of rocks, hell he threw the ball to the official before he crossed the line completely tonight. Not to mention the off the field crap.

I would include Richardson were it not for the fact that he didn't get to play today, I think that will hurt his chances though he may still get an invite.

1. RGIII - puts up insane numbers and, in my opinion, means more to his team than any other candidate. Baylor is like a 4-8 team without him.
2. Montee Ball - He would have been my #4 before tonight, he benefits from having an extra game to pad his numbers.
3. Andrew Luck - too many interceptions the 2nd half of the season for me to vote him #1, but I appreciate that he runs his offense better and does more at the line of scrimmage than some NFL quarterbacks do. Intangible stuff doesn't show up in the stats but I would consider it when voting.

Trent Richardson just misses out on my ballot. I would have had him 3 before Ball put up 4 more touchdowns tonight.

Mathieu had the most standout season out of all the players mentioned imo.

They might as well change the Heisman to the best offensive player award.

I really can't see how anyone can put Luck in their top 3. I get he might be the best player. But he hasn't had the best year. IMO, Barkley is more deserving.

1. RG3
2. Ball
3. Richardson

The Heisman has always been kind of a joke. I agree that it needs to simply be "The most outstanding player in CFB" not just best RB or QB.

And no, TM7 does not deserve it.

it's as follows:

1.) RGIII
2.) Richardson
3.) Luck

Ball and Mathieu are window dressing, but they did get a trip to NYC, and deservedly so

For once I think each of the five finalists is very deserving. My vote would be for Griffen III, with Mathieu a close 2nd.

Based on all Heisman projections, RGIII is going to win and it might not be that close.

I have no idea how Richardson would/should be above Ball. It doesn't make any sense to me. Someone explain why Richardson should be above Ball.

I am not against Robert Griffin III winning. It's also going to a small school player. It's been a bit, at least to my recollection, that we've seen someone win from not a major university. Good for him and the season he's put together.

They'll tell you Richardson plays in a tougher conference and lead his team to a fraudulent NCG appearance. They always make crap up to justify mediocrity.

The last "non-helmet-school" player to win was Ron Dayne in 99, or if you think Wisconsin is a helmet school, probably Rashaan Salaam in 94. Schools since 94:

USC (3)
Oklahoma (2)
Florida (2)
Ohio State (2)
Florida State (1)
Nebraska (1)
Michigan (1)
Texas (1)
Auburn (1)
Wisconsin (1)
Alabama (1)

I think RG3 should win, followed by Ball and Luck.

haha oh be a good sport!

But I think Andrew Luck is the best player in the country, and an absolute paragon of a student-athlete. So he gets my meaningless vote.

Anybody but Andrew Luck. The way they hyped him this year, I really don't think he was as good as advertised. RGIII would get my vote. Or Ball from Wisky.
