They did lose a ton. I am anxious, just like you, to learn more about this year's team. The D.R. Preview tomorrow will be well-done I am sure and obviously the game Friday should give us more information.

I am not going to multi-quote but I will answer some of the questions asked above.
I went with Manchester because Hillsdale will be playing in a hostile environment unlike they have ever played in. Add to that, Manchester's speed and that goofy defense they run, the Falcons will be reeling all evening.
Smithville had a successful season last year, but a whole lot has changed. The Godfather willed that team to a couple of wins, the jury is still out on BB, but until he proves otherwise I can't pick the Smithies to pull out a closely contested game.
Orrville v. Northwest should be a fun game to watch. Northwest might be the only team on their schedule that can outswag the riders. I went with the Indians because the game is in Canal Fulton.

Seen Hillsdale and Smithville play... I honestly don't know much about manchester other than history. After seeing both those teams play Crestview. I just think that those three teams were not at the level of years past... Crestview was able to do a lot against both teams. Both teams did a lot of things against Crestview. If one team could string together some consistency I think they would have beat the other two teams but consitency was a big issue with those three. They showed how young/inexperienced they were. That is one of the toughest things to overcome and will lead to the average seasons I see them having.
Norwayne (9-1 or 10-0 depending on the WR and CVCA games. Those will be their biggest tests I believe. 7-0 in WCAL)
Northwestern (If they play to their potential and their strengths comes in around 7/8 wins. I think they will beat themselves more than getting beat)
Hillsdale (Average team. Any given friday. Could "upset" NWN easily... or not)
Waynedale (Same as Hillsdale. There is potential there to beat the two teams above them)
Smithville (Worst of the middle but are very well coached. They could be 2nd/3rd and become a solid team as the year goes on)
Dalton (A year away from being a top level team)
Then a true pick'em between the bottom two who won't hang with any those above them unless the opponent has an off night.

The last few years it has been tough for most people to pick the Falcons unless it was a sure thing, so nothing new there. It also lets me get a jump up on the Pick'em.Bobcat;1252111 wrote:I'm curious why everyone's picking Manchester over Hillsdale. I heard Manchester lost a ton of great players from a year ago. I know they're returning a good QB. Is Hillsdale really that far down?
Where's all of our Smithies? I haven't heard much talk about them either.

BRF's picks: WEEK 1 (8/24) |
Manchester |
Northwestern |
Norwayne |
Danville |
Norton |
Smithville |
Dalton |
Waynedale |
Orrville |
Garfield |
West Holmes |
One other thing:
As Consigliere, allow me to straighten out some of you chuckleheads.
The phrase goes like this:
"I before E, except after C.........OR.......when sounding like A, as in neighbor or weigh".
So, clearly, "their" falls into the category of "sounding like A".
Lesson concluded.
Spread the word.
Now, go back to making fun of Orrville.

Tomorrow is the big DR Preview....see what area teams are looking like! Still have 2 days of undefeated season dreams. Unfortunately reality will strike. Looks like it could be a tough week 1 in the WCAL...im looking at as bad as 2-6 to 5-3 at best.

I'd be pleasantly surprised to see the WCAL go 4-4. I doubt the results will be any better.
Norwayne will probably win big, everybody else is either gonna get slammed or find themselves in a tough game...just my opinion.

Had zero to do with the name change. Some people didnt like it...but nobody that mattered. Heartland approached Serpentini and apparently made him an offer he couldn't refuse. No ill will and nothing negative to make of it...but that won't stop the uninformed from trying to make a conspiracy of it.
And about dropping Triway...reason we keep playing is because it's a money maker for both schools. Close drive for both fanbases & a good gate.
If Triway was tired of getting worn out 9 of 10 years, they'd be more than welcome to non-renew...but Orrville brings fans and that equals money in the coffers.

I realized that this morning after the press release. I stand corrected. * Notice how I didn't call you a troll like your colleague on the other thread did? I have been more than fair and him calling me a troll is rich.......real richRedRider1;1252618 wrote:Had zero to do with the name change. Some people didnt like it...but nobody that mattered.
