I have said several times in here....people counting out NWN has played to their advantage. Hillsdale is a very good ball club and NWN D shut down their high powered running game. Fast and Athletic won tonight. Hillsdale's line is HUGE! One play out of the gate and Hillsdale scored first on a 77yd run. NWN came back and D for NWN played lights out rest of game. Consistently in the backfield and pushing right past those big linemen. D for Huskies put O in great shape for the most part. NWN is filled with playmakers. You may hear only a couple of names in the paper, but there is a very close, hard working team out there on the field. Great job to the Huskies!

There is nothing to defend...I've said several times that I don't think he is a very good coach...but none the less, he has about 2 legitimate football players on the whole roster.

When you take a mediocre X and O's coach, and give him a bunch of small, frail, bad football players this is what it looks like.

I went to my second Norwayne game of the year expecting to see a show. My Riders stink so I couldnt watch for another week. Norwayne features the best run/pass team in the area and I was looking forward to seeing the new QB at work. I also was looking forward to seeing Jon Zimmerly run the ball again...the kids a horse. Brady Berger leads the area in receiving yardage and is tough to bring down. I thought this would be fun. Norwayne dominated from the get go but I dont understand Norwaynes coaches. They come out running the ball, which you never do when you're going to rout someone. Throw early and run late. You cant throw when you're up big. I'd be ticked If I'm a receiver on this team. I can see why they caught all that grief after the Waynedale game. Zimmerly was running the ball deep in the 3rd qtr. They even threw him a pass long after they didnt throw passes to the WR's. The coaches favor this kid unbelievably. It's pathetic. At least try to hide it. They barely threw to the main WR's at all in this game. They threw to 2 backups 2 or 3 times then maybe completed 3 or 4 passes total to the 3 starters. I'd be pissed if I was Berger. The kid had a ton of yards going into this game. They threw 1 pass to him....a 50 yard TD. The Offensive Coordinator is a joke. Right or wrong you have a responsibility to your stars. Unless your dads running the show at Norwayne you're screwed

took a hit in the pick em this week oh well....hope all were injury free!! i have been mum for awhile but here is what i have picked up on... if your having a bad year its always the coaches fault hence waynedale and if your having a good year its always the coaches fault hence bobcats! what happened to players playing for the love of the game? should a player be that upset about not getting stats? maybe they should be thankful we live in a great country that allows us to watch our teams on friday night play like young men win/lose/or draw! when you sit through a 20 plus game losing streak you start to see things from the other side! hope for a good end to a good season the last three weeks.

Edge: Hillsdale

Hillsdale's offensive line and defensive line will dominate on Friday night. With Northwestern's best lineman around 220 pounds and Hillsdale's best offensive lineman at mid 260 pounds and two other lineman around 220 pounds, I expect Hillsdale will have their way with the Northwestern line. Hillsdale will have no problem running the ball on Northwestern.
Oh really?

Eh, I gave them the edge, too. Congratulations to the Huskies! Thut's boys are really showing what they can do.

Perhaps this year we might ACTUALLY have a Week 10 showdown for the conference championship!

Huskie D looked really good tonight. They had a couple 4th and short stops and on one occasion in the second half Hillsdale had 1st and goal from inside the 10 and the Huskies held them to a field goal. Congrats Huskies.

edit.... a lot of penalties on the Huskies though. That needs to stop.

Norwayne won right ?????...thats all that matters. this is not the NFL where if you get X number of yards you get X amount of money. THIS IS HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL!!!!!!!..... I dont know the Berger boy, but I would hope that he would not be worried about the amount of yards he had and be happy with a Norwayne wun!!!!!

On to the game, didnt go last night but listened to it on the internet, sounds like we had some trouble with the run with Dalton then read in the paper they gave up almost 250 yards on the ground thats not good. Also hear that Norwayne's linemen Scruggs went out with an injury in first half and did not return. Anybody got an update on him. Going into the final 3 weeks is not a good time to lose starters.

I do believe in the community attitude thing, size and speed, all of these things we discuss about small school football. but come on, what goes on in the locker room (the coach) what goes on, on the practice field(the coach) what goes on friday nites on the field(the coach) what happens with his players in the hallway at school (coach) the weight room (coaches) stop blaming a bunch of undersized kids for the fiasco on the field, sure parents are upset and rightfully so, I read an article in newspaper about a prominant area team not doing so well recently and the head coach was quoted as saying "do not blame these kids, do not blame these parents or school, this is my football team and it is my fault that things have fallen off so far" Hmmmmmmmm........seems like that the man, (MAN) has taken the responsibility for his failure as a coach (COACH).

Were have you been? There has been a week ten championship game the last two years!

What showed up as a team for Hillsdale last night was terrible. And all though I do question a few of the plays that where called, I would say this game was lost do to a lack of focus and intensity on the field. Half the time when the play was sent in it looked like they did not know what to do. When you are a two way player that gets run in and out a lot (and IMO any varsity player for that matter) you best be on the side line helmet on and ready to go in, not having social hour. We were unable to keep up with NWN hurry up and had kids still trying to get in position most of the time.
The line play was just bad on both sides of the ball.
Had NWN connected on half the passes they threw, this would not have even been a game beyond the first quarter.

If this is how we continue to play Norwayne will name the score.

On a brighter note: I was great being able to meet some of the posters last night, Sydfl, Miyagi, and even that deserter Red Bum.

Just saw the score. Talked to a coach, a friend who was there and a player I know really well. Heard the same thing from all 3. Everyone questions everything (players to coaches ect.. .) Not going to win games when fingers are pointing. Once again.... Blame goes to all. How can you fault the coach as much as you do though when your kids are up 18-6 going in to the half? I was told waynedale was in position to score again but a pick 6 right before the half happens.... Then chippewa hits a bomb because the headsof the kids drop after the pick 6 even with the half? Is this story correct? That was what my friend said occurred... If so.... how could you blame coaching? I'm real positive the coaches were not doomsday'n at the half. They had the lead.... why would the kids go down hill? Had to be mental toughness and that is something that is tough to teach...

If the kids hearts are not into it... They drop at the first sign of adversity.... Bill walsh or vince himself couldn't get the team to turn it around. They would hammer then into the ground at practice but attitudes that have shown up this year would not respond.

By the way eyes, you my friend are a major douche. You're a real big man to come on here and run your mouth about a coach under a hidden name and then call someone else out and claim they are hiding.

That had to be one of the most penalized game they have had all year. Might be able to attribute the big lineman on some but most were away from ball that I could see. Some shifty ref calls last night that was incredible on both sides of the ball. They must have had a class on sideline infractions this past year, I have never seen so many of those as I have this year..

Interesting shake up this week in the games! Triway lost, W.Holmes Lost, Waynedale lost to Chippewa!!!! (never saw this one coming). I think Norwayne will not let up this week!!! at the expense of the Smithies! pay back is gonna hurt.

Nice breakdown and the intensity was awesome on the NWN side. Was great to see you last night, thanks for the program :) I missed meeting Miyagi and Red though...dangit! Between our receivers not catching or our QB throwing wild balls, our passing game did not show up. But, man at the weather last night over there...

In the DR pick'em, only 1 of the panelists had less than 6 losses from last night (Lynch 9-4). I went 6-7! Definitely a crazy night! I'm glad to see it, though. Really adds to the excitement.

Are you for real? Norwayne passed for over 261 yards and called off the dogs. Zimmerly only played two series in the second half. If the coaches wanted, Z could run for 300 yards a game. The coaches spread the ball around to everyone. If you truely are an Orrville fan, and not a Norwayne dad, worry about Orrville and we will take care of our own.
