One of the longest nights of my life was being handcuffed in the same paddy wagon as Bloody in the early '90's.

Did you leave the other spots blank or was that how it was displayed? I would be interested to see who else they have ranked.

Here's another suggestion...have him spend an entire game handcuffed to 1_beast while dressed as Coach Z. I suggest the Norwayne game.
By the Supreme Court this would be cruel and unusual punishment. They do allow for the electric chair though.

I have a feeling that by halftime superman will choose the electric chair over spending another half next to beast. It will help us judge his sincerity in becoming a part of the group.

Gotta love those preseason polls!

Why are you even mentioning Orrville's rank? Are we still considered the measuring tool for the WCAL? Or just gloating about being ahead of Orrville in some useless poll?

Go get em Paul!

I dunno. Last year, I seem to recall them being ranked ahead.

A true testimony to the quality of football played in the WCAL. The D4 State Champ sharing a 3-way conference title says a lot about the caliber of talent and intensity that is bred by this conference of small-town schools.

One week and about seven hours until kickoff!

Yup! Like the ones a few years ago that had us in the state championship game. LoL. I mean, I knew we were going to be good, but that was a little outrageous. These are all either a group of peoples' opinions, or a formula spitting this stuff out, or a combination of the two. The game is played on the field.

In all fairness, I think it's more the fact that many of us have heard Rider fans (not you, or anyone else, in particular) continually refer to the WCAL as inferior. I distinctly recall conversations even going back as far as my senior year with Orrville fans who thought their 2-8 team would have beat the 11-2 Smithies, the 7-4 Bulldogs, and the 8-2 Huskies that year.

Been gone for awhile and just caught up on my reading

as usual, I have a few thoughts

On Orrville
I hear from my Orrville buddy that they have some serious team speed. They'll probably lose a few games and still finish top 8 in their region. Another year, another playoff run for the Riders.

On Orrville fans
They need smacked down occasionally, plain and simple. I purposely engage in this sport a few times a year because I can't find any St. Iggy fans to rip on and it's fun. Overall, they're the most entertaining area fans to watch a game with and they are the easiest to fire up.

On Norwayne
The new QB is the real deal. The knobcats will win the WCAL. They won't repeat as state champs but another Orr/Nor playoff game could happen. Wouldn't that be fun!!!

On Adam Wallace
I was under the impression all along that he went to Ashland so he could play QB. It doesn't surprise me he's looking good in camp. He's the best player to come out of the area in a few years.

On Northwestern
They have the talent but I question whether they have the heart.

On Dalton
Just the opposite of Northwestern and BTW Dalton upends the Huskies this season.

On Smithville
This will be an interesting season for the Smithies. New regime & simmering resentments. Will this be a recipe for success or will soccer take over in speed trapville

On the return of Paul
I wait for his wisdom, afterall he DID SAY they would win it all last August.

On Beast being MIA from the thread
Who ran him off? Rongz? Buttyagi? Dead Bum? 2Beast? 5Beast? 8Beast? WCALfan?
Since no one else is claiming credit, I will.
I verbally destroyed the poor boy and banished him from the thread. I am Rex Bellator!!!!!

On Red Rum still posting on the thread
It's only a matter of time, bad heart = short life. Please die soon, before the rent is due would be great.

On Miyagis frankenleg
It's an abomination!!! It moves on its own. IT'S AN EVIL LEG!

On Friday Night Touchdown
Dan Coughlin & Ally LaSomething. Old drunk and hot flexible chick = big ratings

I will be the first to tell you that our 2-8 teams and 3-7 teams of the early 2000's wouldn't have had a chance against those teams of that era.

As for Norwayne...they were the better team last season no doubt about it. I don't want to even bring up or talk about the past other than to say that I was as happy for Norwayne as any other area football fan and I think they will have another great run at it this year....I just hope we DON'T play again because I would have to hang myself if we lost two straight years to the WCAL in the playoffs!

I know you don't intend it this way, but to many, your quote comes across as "We should never lose to a WCAL team, let alone twice. That is 'below' us, since the WCAL is inferior."
