I don't know, Michigan did beat Wisconsin (and that was Wisconsin's only loss that year) and Penn State who also finished ranked. They also smoked ND at ND when ND was #2/3. Michigan's resume was more impressive that season than Bama's this season. I am not saying Michigan that season was a better team than Bama this season; however, the resume was more impressive.enigmaax;998076 wrote:How many ranked teams/winning teams did each beat? I say this all over the place, but comparing one loss doesn't mean anything because that only showed what your team couldn't do on one day. I'm more concerned with what your team could do over the course of the entire season.
For example, Michigan beat three teams with a winning record all season and less than half of their conference had a winning record overall. Also, while you were talking about unranked teams and close calls, Michigan beat Ball State by 8 points two weeks before losing to Ohio State.
