It only made 11 the first week I believe. I still want to see it because I'm a big DiCaprio guy but it never made it to a theater close to me.dwccrew;998534 wrote:You and the rest of America from the sounds of it. I keep hearing how good Bridesmaids was. Whoever makes trailers for movies didn't do a very good job for that flick then because I didn't really see much in the preview that made me think it would be funny. I have yet to check it out for myself though. I really liked Change Up though. I thought it was the best comedy that I caught at the theater. '11 has pretty much stunk. Aside from X-Men First Class the superhero films weren't great, with Captain American being partly watchable. Pixar's offering this year was subpar with Cars 2. The other animated films (Rio, Rango, etc.) weren't anything to write home about. Super 8 was probably the most overrated film of the year, although my wife liked it. Probably the best comedy was Bridesmaids which was ok, but not as good as previous years' best comedy and Moneyball was the best drama film, and I wouldn't put it in the same category as the top films of '10.
If a movie stinks, I'm not going to candycoat it, and Spielberg has put out some crap lately. For God's sake just try to defend Indy 4. Even the actors admit it was terrible.

Last half decade or so he's made bad movies. That looks to be changing with this and Tintin which I'm looking forward to.

Indy 4 got a 77% on the tomato meter and a standing ovation at Cannes before someone pointed out that the emperor wasn't wearing clothes. Some critics will refuse to say anything bad about Spielberg.

It got a 77% on Rotten Tomatoes because they realized it was a movie made for 12-year olds.

Speilberg killed it on The Pacific, but he only did the first 2 episodes of Band of Brothers.

I am also looking forward to Tintin. I loved those books growing up and have been waiting for an adaptation.
Whoever was hammering War of the Worlds unfortunately is right on. I really looked forward to it - with some trepidation due to Cruise starring. The film was great righ until they got into the minivan about 20 minutes in. All downhill from there. Cruise's character sucked; both his kids were pains in the ass; I think Tim Robbins was supposed to be some sort psychotic pedarest who had no bearing on the plot. Even Morgan Freeman's narration was uncharacteristically poor.
