"Abraham Lincoln" is much better than Spielberg's original working title - "Schindler's List for Blacks"

Unfortunately no pics, our house is/was rented out since there is no sales market in the Obamaconomy. I didn't know that DDL was staying there until (i) we got notice that a production company wanted to lease our house, and (ii) our next door neighbors shot us an email about DDL staying there.

I hope he enjoyed our master bathroom.

DDL is a boss though. Definitely looking forward to this movie.
"Lincoln" looks more like Steve Jobs.

You serious?!

Artificial Intelligence was excellent. Minority Report was too. Catch Me If You Can was immensely entertaining. War of the Worlds was sweet.

I haven't seen Munich yet, but from all accounts it's great too.

I hope this is better than J Edgar; otherwise know as brokeback bureau.

"War of the Worlds was sweet."

I'm going to semi-ignore this. War of the Worlds was freaking terrible, 2 hours of Dakota Fanning screeching and the most idiotic deus ex machina with the idiot son (BTW what happened to his career?) showing up in Boston for a tea party.

ignoring artificial intelligence and war of the worlds as being good movies...the other two were good films. ignore manhatten, he's the resident douche when it comes to movies.

You're the only one that I've seen that says its better than Band of Brothers. I've never seen either, as I'm tired of WWII movies/shows.

He's been in character since March? Wow and I have to agree Spielberg hasn't been much in a while.

Fair point, though There Will be Blood was only watchable because of him. Otherwise it was a pretty boring film.

SLIGHTLY better than Band of Brothers, imo. But I also like the Marines part in WWII more than the Airborn Division. So that played a part.

I would suggest watching them though, so well done. Its not a documentary, and its not a movie. Its just better than either could be because of how they are set up as 10 part mini-series.

MB hates movies unless it was a 10 out of 10

Can't wait for this movie

Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter looks way better. Probably going to end up being a top 5 movie of all time.

Untrue, I like plenty of films that are a 7 out of 10. War of the Worlds is a 6.5 on the inflated IMDB.com, I'd give it a 2. I'm not the only one that realized that it is a POS. Nothing about that film is good. Tom Cruise is a deadbeat dad that sulks, we see a 777 crash nearly intact on the ground with some disabled guy wandering around (WTF?), it killed Dakota Fanning's career, and I have no idea what was up with the overlong Tim Robbins scene.

I really liked Artificial Intelligence and War of the Worlds. I thought they were both great films for what they were trying to be (i.e. not Oscar-type films).

I wasn't talking specifically about WOTW...just every thread about movies you are critical. Don't even deny it

Munich is very good. I recommend you watch it. I liked all the movies you named. WOTW is ok, not his best, not his worst.

You and the rest of America from the sounds of it. I heard on the radio that in its second week of release that J. Edgar made only $5 million. Ouch.

Lots of movies suck. On the other hand there are lots of movies I like. '10 had one of the best years for movies, I watched True Grit, King's Speech, Toy Story 3 and Black Swan back to back to back to back on a plane and enjoyed all of them.

'11 has pretty much stunk. Aside from X-Men First Class the superhero films weren't great, with Captain American being partly watchable. Pixar's offering this year was subpar with Cars 2. The other animated films (Rio, Rango, etc.) weren't anything to write home about. Super 8 was probably the most overrated film of the year, although my wife liked it. Probably the best comedy was Bridesmaids which was ok, but not as good as previous years' best comedy and Moneyball was the best drama film, and I wouldn't put it in the same category as the top films of '10.

If a movie stinks, I'm not going to candycoat it, and Spielberg has put out some crap lately. For God's sake just try to defend Indy 4. Even the actors admit it was terrible.
