Not sure Oswalt is a done deal. He is supposedly meeting with the Rangers tomorrow.

wouldn't mind if Oswalt ends up a Card. This new Reds team isn't the same group he dominated. He would just be another arm for them that would struggle to last all season.

Where did you get the tickets? I would probably want to go down for that one.

That's not bad then, we might go down and get some $5 seats if the weather is decent. I'm guessing Corcino will start for the minor leaguers with Sulbaran and Stephenson going a couple too. Would be fun to watch them. I guess the Reds will use Bailey, Arroyo, Lecure etc.

They should probably not use Bronson, he might get embarrassed.

Diamond Seats are best during a rain delay. You go inside and drink/eat as much as you want.

Anyone believing the rumors the reds are interesting in Oswalt?

They vehemently denied it this week...which leads me to believe they are interested. Was just something wrong with how sternly they came out with the denial.

I think they are interested but the rumor is they will likely have to deal Bailey to open up payroll so that could be a hold up. Is Oswalt for a year worth dealing Bailey? If and a big if Chapman can convert to starter successfully then I say yes.

You know the reds wont be the highest bidder for him. So he has to go with the better fit, better chance at a WS, or the most money.

Rangers give him the best chance. Rangers I would think also would offer the most money. Cards lose a few guys, but get Wainright back and they just won the WS.

I think if the reds sign him....it will be a miracle.

Rangers saw Oswalt as depth and Oswalt didn't want to pitch out of the bullpen and wanted a 10 million contract. Cardinals have since said after they had a "mutual agreement" that they aren't looking to add payroll. Pirates have also showed interest.

Lol. Don't worry about that. "Pirates have also showed interest" is fancy-talk for "Pirates gave insulting, low-ball offer (such as 1-yr, $500K + Olive Garden gift card) so they could tell fans they're trying to make big moves."

Now excuse me while I sob bitterly.

Hey...the pirates offered him free primanti's for life in their deal!!!!!

Should the reds do what they can to dump arroyo? I am a fan of Bailey. I think he has progressed, and is still young and getting better. He was said to be stubborn early on but seems to have seen the light and accepting coaching. I just dont think ya give up on an arm like he has at a young age.

Arroyo would be hard to move, and if they cut him then they how him big bucks I think for the rest of his deal if Ir emember correctly.

Cueto, Latos, Leake, Oswalt, Chapman/Bailey would look mighty nice.......

If the Reds could dump Arroyo, they would. I just don't see it. Too much money they would have to pay up front...

Bailey is too much of a head case to ever work in GABP. If you are going to go in, you go all in.
