Good call. It was Will Hill. My mistake.

Armond Armstead will be returning to USC this semester from what I just read on Twitter. Arik will announce on signing day. Hmmm.....

Yep. Armond will still transfer somewhere so he can play his senior season, just needs more time to figure it out.

He won't play at USC from what I understand. I guess something with his transcripts with nd or maybe both of them will be going to auburn?

It sounds like they just want to know what their options are. I can't fault them for making any rash decisions.

I pray that the SEC denies the exemption.

I just heard that this has something to do with a medical issue with Armond, with ND needing to do further testing to assure he'd be okay to play? can anyone confirm or deny this? (sorry if this was posted earlier--I didn't look back very far on this thread)

Yeah, the reason he is transferring from Southern Cal is medical related. He chose to return for his senior year rather than jump to the NFL, then last spring Southern Cal's doctors wouldn't clear him to play. No one has said exactly what it was that kept him out, but it was speculated that he had some chest pains during a spring practice. Anyway, Armond went to 7 different independent doctors and all of them cleared him to play, but Southern Cal still wouldn't. Arik was committed to SC for a long time, but decommitted because the family wasn't happy with how they treated Armond. Armond wants to play to get his draft stock back to where it was after his junior season in 2010, which was 2nd-3rd round.

It would be terrible if ND cleared him to play and he had a heart attack during a practice. I would assume ND's "higher ups" want to be as sure as possible. His transcripts are probably being looked over too, since it is a grad school admission. Time will tell.

It's one thing to kill a camerakid, but killing a player is a whole 'nother level. /sleeper'd

Yeah doesn't look good for him. No idea who the guy is but someone tweeted he lost all offers except Colorado and Rutgers.

In other news, Gunner dropped 32 places in ESPN rankings to 68. Not sure how that happens this late but I'm sure Luginbill knows what he is doing.

No, but after committing to Notre Dame...he should've moved up in the rankings and received his 6th star. -ccrunner

ESPN had already adjusted their rankings after the all american games. Gunner didn't play well in the game, but from all accounts during practice, he was the best quarterback there.

I should add he isn't 68th, saw that wrong on a different site, he is 52nd. Still dropped 32 spots.

That only happens if you commit to Urban Meyer. ;)

ESPN is the worst of all recruiting outlets by far.

Rivals is right there with them. Most of their best guys left and are now at 247.

I would say 247 is the best. Rivals and espn are shit

I try to take an average of scout, rivals and 247 and get an idea of what the real number is...I leave ESPN out of it, why bother.

It is usually if you commit to anywhere you drop in the rankings unless you are a 5 star already. Devonte Neal went up several spot everywhere and Joey O'Conner and another OSU commit dropped. You don't sell subscriptions with highly ranked committed prospects.

yeah the other 3 are usually within a few spots of each other on their rankings for the most part. ESPN is all over the place.
