Urban Meyer recently called Brionte Dunn and Bill Greene is writing story now. Will update when he's done....

Pretty sure they're saying knee sprain for Shazier, haven't heard anything about Stoney though.

As of right now, OSU is a subpar team, so we definitely need everyone. We have been decimated with injuries this season.

As much as I love Stoneburner, the offense doesn't use him correctly this year anyway. Shazier will be a big loss.

Supposedly, when Urban met Stoney, the first thing Urban said was "have you ever heard of Aaron Hernandez?"

This team is going to be really fun to watch next year in this offense...

Was reading around on another board and heard Urban is planning on moving one of the tailbacks to WR and use him like Harvin? Would that be Jamaal Berry?

Could be playing Florida...

Gator Bowl President

His name is Rick Catlett. He told me that he'd love to have an OSU-Florida matchup with all the story lines.

When asked if he was aware that there are rumors OSU may decline a bowl bid, he said he would have to hear that from either the Big Ten or OSU. Neither have contacted him and as far as he is concerned OSU is a bowl eligible team prepared to make a trip to the postseason.

On STO yesterday, Bruce Drennan said a source told him during a team meeting, the seniors on football team voted against going to any bowl game.

I thought that Bowl's couldn't take a 6-6 team over a team w/ a winning record. So unless the Gator Bowl doesn't have a team with a winning record available to take, OSU won't be playing in a Bowl outside of one with a BIG commitment to fill.

With his off field issues this past season, I don't think Berry will be at OSU.

Does Bruce Drennan actually have any real sources? Also, if the team wasn't going to a Bowl game, why did Gene Smith make it a point to say Luke would be coaching in the Bowl game? And Meyer referenced the team going to win their Bowl to get momentum for the upcoming season.

Why would they not? Unless they are concerned with being 6-7? Too much benefit to playing in one IMO.

This makes me really wish we had landed Akise Teague...

It's not only missing the bowl game, but the 15 practices leading up to it, and I think Shazier would benefit from these even more than Stoney.

In his presser Meyer said he told the players in their meeting, "Get ready for their bowl and win it so you can end the season with a good taste in your mouth for January 2 when we start getting ready for next season."

Something to that affect.

If Sweat is back, Shazier would not be a loss at all. If you have watched OSU since Sweat went out, they have not been very good. Shazier is going to be VERY good. He does make some great plays. But he isn't strong enough to consistantly get off of blocks and stuff the runner/hole as a LB should. Sweat was a pretty darn good player. Not sure many realized how good or what he did with this defense. He has been missed BIG TIME. I hope he is able to play in the bowl game.

I'll disagree. My post wasn't to compare the impact of Sweat vs. Shazier. I'll agree that Sweat was good during the season, but to say Shazier would not be a loss at all is just silly. Assuming Sweat is back and Shazier would be healthy, I wouldn't be surprised for OSU to try and get both on the field. Shazier has proven he is a playmaker when healthy. He also has a ton of potential for a true freshman.
