You cannot lump all of the Kenton folks or posters in one category by a few that you say blasted you. And some of the outlandish predictions you state in this thread are from some other fans than Kenton. Do I think Kenton will win....YES! Do I think Norwayne could win...YES!

This game is going to come down to turn overs, onside kicks, and 2 point conversions. I think Norwayne might need to try and match Kenton with the onside kicks and 2 point conversions in this game.

Pit I will go back and read the thread on JJ and see where you say that you got blasted for saying it will be a competitive game....because I don't remember anyone blasting you like you state.
kwdtn89;993242 wrote:Not all of them are iced! There is a lot of hate for Kenton fans on this site and I bet most of you don't know or have actually talked to some that are Humble. That is not fair to the ones that actually think this will be a good game.
The outlandish predictions were Sat-Sun...after some stats and film got out on Norwayne, people became more realistic. This could be a very competitve game, However it also could be BLOWN OPEN....both teams have quick strike ability and HUGE numbers on the year....obviously Kenton is favored....and Mauk is the best thing since sliced bread. However....Coldwater wasnt supposed to beat Mooney a few years back....and NOONE thought the Giants would beat the Undefeated Patriots....upsets happen....but I willl tell you this....Im unaffiliated with Norwayne.....but them boys certainly will not come into that stadium thinking they are the underdogs....they will show up TO WIN!!!!

The support for Norwayne from our community and the surrounding area has been amazing. I would like to personally thank everyone for that support. We will need all of you this Saturday to try and knock off Kenton. They are an amazing team. My son plays and I know he and his teammates are looking forward to the challenge. Go Cats!

You have two teams coming into this game that are already amid two of the top ten highest scoring offenses in a season in OHSAA history (Kenton is 5th and Norwayne is 8th). That, in and of itself, is pretty indicative that these two teams are having special years.

Norwayne fans have to wonder how many points Norwayne would have if their starters had played in the first eight 4th quarters of the season. I'm sure Kenton is in the same boat, with reserves having had plenty of playing time this year.

These offenses could have been even higher on that list!

norwayne picked a good year to have a good team.. worst WCAL year i have ever seen. I think the worst team in the wcal in 2010 which was chippewa would be the 4th best team in the wcal this year.

The Chippewa team that was shut out 46-0 by a 2-8 Smithville team, 48-0 by a 4-6 Tuslaw team, and 54-0 by a 5-5 Northwestern team? They were outscored by their opponents 116-501. They held one team under 40, and that team was only a TD away (and that team went 2-8).

I get the sentiment, but I'm not even sure.that team is better than this year's Chippewa team, who somehow held a 7-3 Columbia team under 30 and only lost 27-12. Don't get me wrong, they AREN'T good this year, but last year's team was getting blown out and shut out by mediocre to bad teams.

I only saw them once last year, but I could see a close game between the 2011 and 2010 Chipps.

Kenton is actually 6th and Norwayne is 8th. Only 4 points seperate them. The team in 7th had 1 more point then Norwayne does right now. Both teams could overtake all but the top 3 teams if they score their averages.

i would take the 2010 chipps over this years dalton, rittman, chippewa, and possibly northwestern if they played in the beginning of the year in 2011.

Ok, so you are saying last years Chipps would beat this years Dalton, Northwestern, and Waynedale. Darn that must be some good stuff!

So do I. I actually don't think they were the worst team in the league this year even, unless record notwithstanding.

Now assuming that Norwayne, Smithville , and Hillsdale are the top three in this league this year and that the 2010 Chipps would be 4th, that means they are better than Waynedale.

Unless you consider the the three way tie all as first, Waynedale -second, Northwestern -third, then the Chipps. Then they are still in the bottom two.

Bottom 3. Dalton and Rittman would join them.

i over exaggerated by saying chipps would be 4th this year but i do think the 2010 chipps would be ahead of this years rittman, dalton, and the chipps.

It should be noted that the OHSAA record lists are "unofficial," because all records can't be guaranteed 100 percent certain. They rely on schools, media, etc to report records. RedRider1 told me Genoa had a team score better than Norwayne has, but these are still two historic offenses.

D-IV finalists Norwayne-Kenton have combined for 1,280 pts! Kenton has 642 (already 6th best in state history), Norwayne has 638 (8th best)

BRF says Go Norwayne. Also: Go 1_beast! ;-). I was thinking that surely Genoa would be up there in the scoring rankings.

Talked with my brother, he was sitting pretty close to the bell, they thought was pretty neat. In the DR article Norwayne superintendent Aucker had a few nice things to say about the bell and it's owner.
