Lane Kiffin's done a hell of a job with this USC team, as much as people love to hate him.

So far, #2, #4, #7 have lost. #5 is on the ropes in Waco. Shit's about to get real in the BCS.

If somehow LSU would lose the SEC title game, the BCS will explode.

An Alabama Arkansas national title game with neither having played in the conference championship game. The howling would be tremendous from fans/media alike.

Nah, Arkansas would be bounced from the conversation with a loss at LSU. What happens if Arkansas wins in Death Valley next week? Would LSU still represent in the SEC 'ship?

An Alabama/Arkansas national title game without either playing in the SEC Title game is virtually impossible. That would mean Arkansas beats LSU, which would likely put either Alabama or Arkansas into the SEC Title game.

Oregon losing tonight actually helps that scenario for the Hogs and Tide as LSU's resume just got worse...

i'd imagine we'd have another okla/ttu/texas highest bcs ranking fiasco on our hands

Highest BCS ranking gets the bid.

However, the pollsters would then have to determine how they rank LSU, Alabama and Arkansas? They all beat each other.

Typically I'd say the Oregon win would give LSU the edge, but not so much as the Ducks are now a 2-loss team. Alabama's win over Penn State, in-theory, is as impressive or more impressive than LSU's win over Oregon.

My bad, I forgot they have that last game. I was thinking of them being 1/2/3 with Alabama in the BCS this week most likely.

Well, then... What if Arkansas does beat LSU, and by some other stuff happening, LSU/Arkansas/Alabama remain 1-3? Then, the team from those three who make it to the SEC Championship then lose to SEC East? Then, that would put the other two as number 1 and number 2. Is the rule where the BCS can't accept more than two teams from the same conference still in place? If so, then the SEC East winner would get in, and then the number 1 team would get in, and the second team would not be playing for the national title...

i believe, in that scenario, the sec would get three teams in. georgia would have the conference's automatic bid while the two teams that didn't play in the secchamp game would be in the national champ

I believe the #1 vs #2 would trump allowing 3 teams from 1-league get in. However, interesting question...the scenario has never come up before...wondering the official answer myself.

Still chance 3 SEC teams in BCS bowls. Bama beats Auburn. LSU beats Miss, Ark, loses to UGA for SEC title. Bama-LSU are 1-2. UGA gets auto

Darren Rovell (@DarrenRovell) tweeted:
USC beating Oregon cost the Pac-12 a 2nd BCS team & $508,000 PER SCHOOL.
Damn. Pac-12 schools have to be pissed. Not sure if this was before or after OU lost to Baylor so maybe there is a chance Stanford gets in as an At-Large team.
