I disagree about TP being "leaps and bounds" a better athlete than Miller...

Miller is much more agile/shifty while running and makes harder cuts than TP did as well.

Both are freak athletes.

However, an athlete at QB doesn't mean shit. That's where Miller will become who he is. I think he's going to be a MUCH better QB than TP ever was at OSU.

I absolutely loathe Pryor and what the FPOS did to our program but he is so much better an athlete than Miller it's ridiculous to even have this argument. Accuracy rarely improves in QBs from the time they leave HS, field vision improves, reading defenses improves, pocket recognition & pass selection improves but "accuracy" is an inate coordination skill that pretty much stays the same. Miller has an accuracy deficiency that I'm afraid will continue to haunt us. Meyer you can bet your ass has already determined this and is scouring the country for his 2013 QB.

Then why did Meyer appear to have a raging boner when asked about Miller during his introduction as the new coach?

To me it seems like Miller just needs to relax, yes I know easier said then done. I've seen him make good throws in small windows and then botch wide open touch downs. At this point I definitely think it's fixable. Some tend to forget that he's a true freshman. Pryor had issues throwing his freshman year too and progressed every year. He was raw as shit coming out of high school while Miller is a little more polished.

About? Please enlighten me.

By the time 2013 comes around Miller will have almost 2 full seasons under his belt as a starter. If he hasn't improved, then we can have this discussion.

Huge difference, Pryor was throwing to Robiskie, Hartline, Sanzo, Ballard. No comparison really.

All on current nfl rosters!

The upside is that Pryor had somebody to throw the rock to, Miller gets his first look a legit receiver for the first time tomorrow.
This is the biggest difference. But one just as big that goes along with this Pryor had a guy named BEANIE WELLS in the backfield with him. Miller had nothing compared to that.

What??? Meyer said if their weren't women in the press conference he could REALLY say what he thought about Miller. Something like the most talented F***ing Freshman QB he has ever seen.

What else is he gonna say? He knows he's saddled with the kid for 2012 and most likely 2013 unless a real top bluechipper pops up out of nowhere. Miller isn't terrible but he has an accuracy problem that probably isn't going to get a whole lot better. He will continue to miss wide open receivers especially on Up routes and Deep X routes. But his other QB skills will improve and that will make him a servicable QB until Meyer finds a better one.

I'm with you on this. IMO, Miller will flourish in Meyer's system and under his tutelage, and will bring back memories of Troy Smith at his finest.

Those are just two examples from just this year. If I wanted to make you look even more wrong I'd spend more time doing so. I guess what I'm trying to say is, you're completely wrong.

lol. I'm waiting for a response.

I think people are also quick to forget that Miller was thrown into a total shitstorm. All the mistakes he made and lumps he took were expected. I thought he handled himself well he obviously showed flashes of brilliance. His humble attitude and how he carries himself is refreshing when compared to the dumbfuck before him.

The total completion numbers will improve because a QBs overall "QB skills" improve which I indicated in my first post (#31) but guys who have trouble being accurate on certain types of throws rarely improve considerably much on those same throws as they mature. Coaches who have been around the game understand what I'm talking about, its harder for your "regular" fan to grasp these intricacies.

Well damn, I guess I need your vast knowledge to understand these "intricacies."

I could be mistaken, but wasn't Pryor terrible at the short outs at first and improved each year?

I think you're jumping the gun on Miller.

Scary thing is Pryor basically made all the improvements on his own. Imagine if he had a QB coach

I agree with this. If you go back in time (and believe me, I realize that's hard to do), I would argue that Miller is a better passer NOW than Pryor was when he LEFT. And it's not even close how much better of a passer Miller is NOW than Pryor was when he was a FR. In the end, I think Miller will be okay. I think he played about as on par as you should expect from a true FR QB. Maybe even slightly better.

I would listen to your argument. Pryor is an idiot, but that doesn't erase everything he did at OSU and how much he improved.

Dont think so. If Tress had been the main man coaching QBs, Daniels would have never been on staff. While I agree that Tress most likely did some QB work with Pryor, having a solid full time QB coach is pretty important. Sis handled most of the QB development, hence the shit he got from, you know, everyone.

People keep wanting to think that Meyer is going to work some magic with Miller, but seem to overlook the fact that Mullen was Meyer's QB coach almost his whole coaching tenure. I will say that Herman is a huge upgrade from Sis though.

Jim Tressel coaching up TP is much more likely than him "basically learning on his own".
