The Big East's backup if BYU doesn't pan out is San Diego State. Seriously.

The problem is the Big East has no alternatives if it wants to remain a AQ BCS conference (if the B12 commissioner has its way there will be no BCS conferences). If the Big East just grabs Houston, SMU, UCF and say Temple, E Carolina and Southern Miss they would have 0 chance.

From what I can tell, Boise wants to join the Big East but only if there is a western divison. SD State is in a large market and Boise likes to recruit the Cali kids.

A more recent article out of the Deseret News gives a more rosey outlook that something could be happening in the next couple weeks. For those not in the know, this paper is published out of Salt Lake and is owned by the LDS Church. I would take it as source very close to the situation.

Lol what the heck is east anymore? Anyways lets kill this conference as an AQ one...they once again don't have a ranked team for the BCS. We all know what a classic the 2011 Fiesta Bowl was. UConn/Oklahoma was definitely a classic

Florida 41 OSU 14
USC 55 Oklahoma 19
LSU 41 ND 14
Oklahoma 34 Washington state 14
Oregon 38 Colorado 16
Oregon St 41 ND 9
Florida 51 Cincinnati 24

Wasn't the first BCS blowout, won't be the last. Big East has a better BCS record than the ACC since the raid, just an observation.
