you can't post this on this forum--it has nothing to do with Sandusky, Paterno, or PSU...haven't you been paying attention??

Not a great conference but probably good enough to keep the AQ status

LOL at the Sandusky references.
Confused. Need to go back to geography class.

Pitt and Syracuse is not on the Atlantic Coast.
There are 12 teams in the B10.
There are 10 teams in the B12.
Missouri and Texas A&M are not in the southeastern part of the country.
Utah and Colorado are pretty far from the Pacific Ocean (ditto for Arizona and Arizona State).

Very happy when I saw this, should help stabilize the conference. We'll keep the AQ status. I don't think Boise will go undefeated in this conference. I like UC's chances year in and year out in our division.

I hope this happens, but until all these teams finish out their conference switches I'm skeptical.
This conference would have a lot of promise. I think Houston and SMU have the potential to become big time programs.

Pitt and Syracuse are in states that are apart of the region known as the Mid-Atlantic, so they're cleared.
The Big XII still has major influence in 12 major markets in the middle of the country, so they're referring to those television stations
The B1G is realistically influencing 10 major markets, so they're referring to those stations
With the Missouri Compromise, Missouri was admitted as a slave state, thus fitting in with it's SE counterparts. The same could be said with Texas, but College Station, TX is also in the SE part of the state, so they're acceptable as well.
I don't know what to say about Utah and Colorado, they belong in the Mountain West given their atmospheres. ASU and AU have really hot girls; like you would see sun bathing on the Pacific Ocean. The Pac-10 made sense, but the Pac-12 does not. Hawaii should have gotten an invite to the Pac-?? You can't get more Pacific than that.
Finally, the Big East and C-USA should switch names because C-USA is predominately in the east and the Big East is really across the entire US.

"SMU have the potential to become big time programs. "
The only way SMU ever becomes a big time program again if it is allowed to cheat like it did in the 80's and play patsies, also like it did in the 80's (seriously there were some years they didn't play a game outside of the state of Texas).

I don't think SMU can get back to that level and stay there consistently. But I don't think it is out of the realm of possibility that they could become a solid program again. June Jones knows what he is doing an they just had that Texas QB who played in the National Championship game transfer there. I know he was rough in Texas but it seems like their offensive staff has been brutal in recent years

Oklahoma's President mentioned in a radio interview that Rutgers is being seriously considered to join the B1G along w/ Louisville.
The Big-12 is content to stay at 10 teams for 2012 but plans to go to 12 for 2013. It was always assumed to be Cincinnati paired with Louisville but now it sounds like Louisville and Rutgers.

Doesn't uconn want to go to the ACC if possible? Are they done absorbing teams after pitt and syracuse?

I don't think UCONN will ever get invited to the ACC, at least not in the near future. BC's President stated in an interview with ESPN that the conference was initially going to take Syracuse and UCONN (instead of Pitt) but BC blocked the move because they plan to become "New England's team" in college football. The Equalizer;975231 wrote:Doesn't uconn want to go to the ACC if possible? Thre are not a lot of division I recruits who come out of the New England States as it stands I think BC is afraid that if UCONN comes to the ACC they will eventually pass them up in all sports and never be able to catch up (frankly I think they already have but that is another discussion).

Navy has not joined the Big East. They have turned down one invitation as has Army. A second invitation has been extended. The USNA Ad has made it clear that he will not comitt to anthing until he is certain of the longer term ramifications.
The current Big East buyout requirements in the invitation are not likely to be agree to by Navy. They also have scheduling conflicts and concerns with a conference schedule.

BE should stop inviting them if they're going to be that strict about the admittance structure. The BE doesn't need Navy

Yeah, it really doesn't bode well for your conference if you are letting Navy hold all the cards. The best hope for this conference is that the BCS does away with AQ status altogether (which is apparently being discussed) because there is no way this conference deserves it when the new contract comes up.SportsAndLady;975397 wrote:If all that's the case...cya Navy.

There's no doubt the Big East doesn't need Navy. Navy is trying to determine if they need the Big East...so is Air Force by the way.SportsAndLady;975397 wrote:If all that's the case...cya Navy.

Why would that be in the best hope for the BE? The only reason they get a BCS invite is because they have to lolenigmaax;975405 wrote:Yeah, it really doesn't bode well for your conference if you are letting Navy hold all the cards.
