Toledo St John's did something similar with baby powder at the state basketball tournament 3 or so years ago when the pregame clock hit zero. A few minutes into the first quarter they had to stop the game to clean up the floor after it had settled (some drifted up into the upper deck and smelled bad).Old Rider;1293484 wrote:Assuming that is baby powder...cool idea!

Ashland's kids do that powder toss before football games. Kind of funny, as the cloud drifted over the old people in the stands. I thought they were going to strangle those kids.

I think there's hope for that 3-7 finish, which would be great.
Good job by the defense, 95% of the game.
Let's build on this good effort tonight to get that first win on our turf next Friday night.

great effort. inspired play. still don't like to lose but I loved the spirit from team and crowd. Truly a special place to have a crowd like that with a team that has struggled this year. better group than the playoff team across the field. WIN OUT!!!!!

Greatly impressed with the enthusiasm and effort by the Riders tonite. The defense was stellar and the offense gave us a lot to cheer about in the second half. Hope this to be the springboard to winning against Clear Fork and Wooster. Go Riders.

Great effort tonight, too bad the coach once again Blew it by calling for a two point conversion after first touchdown. I will never figure out what this coach possibly can be thinking at times. unless our kicker was hurt or he has no confidence at all in the kicking game there was absolutely no reason to run a two point conversion after first td. like I said before at times absolutely mind-boggling. okay are you Dougie lovers defend his logic and rip me to shreds.

If you would take the time to ask rather than jump to criticize right away you maybe would have found out that our snapper has a shoulder injury. You answered your own question in your post but also made sure you insulted as many as you could in one paragraph. Sure wish you would involve yourself in the program a little more as it seems like you have an interest in their success.

I am an avid senior citizen RED RIDER fan with no children in the current program. When we scored, I was thinking, Hmmm, injured snapper and past history of blocked extra points. (Not kickers fault, IMO.) Just maybe if we go up and score 2 points, then we will have 8 on the board needing a touchdown to tie or whatever extra points to score a win. I, personally, supported this coaching decision. Go Riders and win the remaining two games.

We scored 8 against Lex..no extra points there
We scored 12 against Senior...no extra points that game either.
Shutout against WH.
Scored 6 against Ashland...extra point was blocked.
So our last made EP was week 3 against Copley.
...and people are asking why we went for 2. LOL.

Agreed LOL , Some only see what they want to see. Missed the first half for the Yankees game ( theeeee Yankees win ! ) but the 2nd half was an excellant effort all around and we need 8 more quarters like that to finish this season . GO RIDERS !RedRider1;1293860 wrote:We scored 8 against Lex..no extra points there

The kicker we have is also a soccer player. He missed practice all week. Showed up Thursday and missed every EP try under practice situation...Bottom line is Coach really didn't really have any confidence in the kid. Can't say I blame him, the kid showed no interest in football when he didn't come to practice all week. Even on the side lines last night, he stood there with a coat on never started taking practice kicks until AFTER the Coach went for 2.Troll King;1293791 wrote:Great effort tonight, too bad the coach once again Blew it by calling for a two point conversion after first touchdown. So a team going for 2 everytime with an offense that clearly cannot move the football makes sense? I say you still have a better chance at an XP. Didnt the same kicker make a field goal against NW in Week 1?

We were moving the ball last night. Nearly 200 yards in the 2nd half.
Paper said we've missed 4 of our last 5 XP's...toss in the fact that our 1st string long snapper was limited and it's a no brainer really.
Lichti threw the ball better, defense played awesome and run game was solid. A lot of positives to take to week 9.
We play Clear Fork like we played the last 2 & we'll get a win.

with our offense and apparently no long snapper, we have as much chance of winning the rest of the year as a one legged man winning an ass kicking contest. Hopefully I'm wrong .RedRider1;1294002 wrote:We were moving the ball last night. Nearly 200 yards in the 2nd half.

We should be the favorite against Clear Fork....and Wooster will be a toss up.
I like our chances to get at least 1 more win....win out is very possible as well.
We're 1-7 but there wasn't an ounce of quit in our kids last night....that's a credit to the kids and to the coaches for keeping the kids focused.
