The dude sounded like a drunken hobo all year. He made Lou Holtz sound like a Shakespearean actor this year. I understand he had a stroke in May, but it was embarrassing to watch him on College Gameday all year.

And why does Corso get a free pass from the general public but Lou is the laughing stock of the college football world? A speech impediment is no more a laughing matter than a stroke.

Hopefully Corso needs more time to recover from the stroke and get his speech back to a respectable level, but if this is as good as it gets for him, I'd prefer him to be a special guest or maybe just show up and put on a mascot head.

I've occasionally had the same politically-incorrect thought about Dick Clark (Inc.) on New Year's Eve.

Oh how clever, you took someone else's work and used it to indicate that you didn't approve of my post. I see how that works.

Corso had his good days and his bad days this year. Some weeks he seemed fine, other weeks, not so much. One week he had to read everything he said from a paper because it was such a bad day. I kind of like the idea of maybe putting him the the studio or if you have him on the show, giving him a reduced role, maybe more stuff pre-shot, and then doing the picks and mascot head things at the end. But let's think about this, if he retires or they get rid of him his most likely replacement is Desmond Howard. Do you really want Desmond in the chair next to Herbie the whole time? I certainly don't. I think they're grooming him to take over for Corso in a year or two. That's why he's had an increased role on the show and even spends time at the desk with the rest of the guys. Honestly, a not-all-there Corso is still better than him. And he get's a free pass because he had a stroke. Holtz get's made fun of because he's goofy and he chooses to put himself out there in spite of his lisp. It clearly doesn't bother him.

And as far as Dick Clark goes, he doesn't do much on New Year's even anymore. Ryan Seacrest hosts it now.

I noticed he seemed very awkward often this year, as if he wasn't all there. I didn't realize he had a stroke, and apparently a lot of other people noticed his awkwardness as well.

I was wondering why he couldn't put together complete sentences... but I don't think he was that bad this year. Although I havne't watched it as much as I have in the past. Dick Clark on the other hand is unwatchable...

Agree. Everyone makes fun of Holtz, including me sometimes, but I enjoy listening to him. I wish they would give him another partner to feed off of though. It's not just that I don't like May, I just don't like listening to him. I don't like a lot of what Skip Bayless has to say, but I still enjoy watching him everyday.

I would agree with that. Holtz and May aren't bad overall in my opinion (when you don't have a sick lust for OSU you can actually appreciate some analysts), but they don't really play off of each other that well. Corso is good too, and they have one hell of a crew and in my opinion it works really well.

I like Corso. And he may not be able to spit it out all that well thanks to his medical condition, but the man knows football too. You don't get that job without knowing what many people don't.

I think Corso brings more humor to that show than knowledge at this point. The show gained its current popularity, in part, because of him. Id let him stay until he wants to leave. I enjoy his humor. Who, amongst us, hasnt said to a buddy. "NOT so fast, my friend?" Or....... So and so is 10-1 annd ying yang is 7-4, but ying yang is favored by 4? " Somebody knows something, and Im going with the somebodies?"
