I graduated from a school that did not offer football. Would have played if they did. Love football too but baskestball is and always will be my favorite sport. Love watching Hiland Hawk basketball.

The schools in Putnam County that don't have football probably get pretty jazzed for bb season, I'd imagine.

When Skyvue was still a school, those people went nuts for that little school's basketball team.

Lakeland (now part of Harrison Central) for a small school had a great basketball program. That entire community would show up for those games.

Berlin Hiland...but they don't have football.

Triway is also a school that is crazier about basketball than they are about football.

Pettisville, Stryker, North Central, and Fayette from the BBC. No football, only cross country and soccer (for Pville).

my Berlin Hiland Hawks, theses small tiny towns that make up Hiland go nuts for there basketball. I know we don't have football, but we do have soccer in the fall. our season adults ticket holders are all sold out for the year. i guess we hope that the visiting teams that we play if they don't sell all of there pre sale tickets. our fans that don't have a season ticket, are there at 5pm to buy a ticket on the visitor side just to get in to see the Hawks play.

All SHL (Southern Hills League Schools) football is only in 2 of thsoe schools and just beginning and their biddee basketball programs begin in September and run through March...it's big stuff. Of the SE district but far western part they have sent North Adams, Whiteoak, Eastern Brown, Lynchburg to the state tourney in the past 15 years and Peebles is another team in that league loaded with history.

I graduated from Ross Southeastern, and even though we have football, basketball will always be the main sport there.

I was a Lakeland grad and I concur.

Hiland is also the same way.
