Wasn't the Hard Hat Trophy in Struthers for like 30 years, prior to 2009? If you count the 25 years from 1980 (when it was retired) to 2004 (when it was brought back), and combine that with the 5 Struthers wins from 2004 to 2008... that adds up to 30.

I could see Campbell starting 0-3... if that were their first 3 games. It's not though. Struthers plays Lakeview in week 2, not Campbell. I do think Campbell plays Brookfield in week 3 though.

I do know Coach Zetts... I just don't talk to him often/much. I don't Know Coach Sikora. I can't comment on that. I'll take your word for it though. They had to be ccccccccccccccccccccccclose to leaving.

However... if Campbell keeps winning, and if (big IF) the kids coming up aren't a bunch of knuckleheads like they had last year, I could see Sikora sticking around. Retirement might be creeping up on Zetts, but I do remember a locker room speech he gave way back when, when he said that he wanted to coach for the rest of his life. Ever see The Wrestler?

My heart is in Struthers. I have family ties to Poland and Mooney though. It doesn't mean I cheer for Struthers any less... it just means that I probably cheer for the schools that I have family ties to (especially and mainly Poland) a little more than I should.

And I absolutely hate Poland. That's the one school I hate losing to more than any other. I'm a product of the 90s though...

Just to give you some insight though, I currently have 14 cousins that go to Poland schools. I only have 4 cousins left at Struthers.

My Dad and his 6 siblings all went to Struthers.

My point is... family members move. That doesn't mean that just because they move 1 or 2 towns over, they're no longer family.

Ask Spread who he'd be cheering for if Struthers were to play Ursuline. Realisticly... he'd probably pick Ursuline, but he'd also probably hope to baby Jesus that Struthers would get the upset.

It's different when you have cousins, nephews, nieces, Grandkids, etc, at a different school.

Here's something that should hit close to home... I watched the Struthers/Campbell game with Walter Reyes last year. His cousin is the QB at Campbell. I'm positive that he wants his cousin to succeed and do well... but he was 100% for Struthers that night.

You're way off... since 1999, Struthers has an 8-6 advantage. For much of that time, Struthers and Campbell were in the same division. They started moving in opposite directions in 2007. Since that time, Struthers has a 3-2 advantage.

Struthers has won 6 of the last 8. Before 2004 though, Campbell had won 4 of 6.

Struthers has a slight edge... but they don't exactly have a stranglehold on the series. And if I'm not mistaken, Campbell actually leads the all time series.

back to football, Stewart has gotten huge over the offseason, he didnt play baseball this season and has been in the weight room as good as Muntean was at the end of last season i see Struthers running the ball 65-35 this season, i would give Kimbrough and Stewart the ball as much as possible.

I agree those two are beast. It would take one hell of a defense to stop that combo... Kimbrough just didn't work out as QB. He is a fantastic runner. And can catch the ball and get nice yardage after the catch..

Gotta admit, I have a soft spot for Stewart. I'll never forget him laying on that field motionless 2 years ago. Rivalries take a back seat in times like that and ill can still see Campbell fans huddling up and praying for him as the ambulance drove on to that field.

Times like that when you realize what's truly important.

Stew has been hitting the weights like a boss. Benching 300+ now... not sure about his squat. Probably over 400.

Koup is another workout warrior. His numbers are off the charts. That kid is a freak, and he's bound and determined to get Struthers to the playoffs. He'll be the Mike LB, but he could also see time at FB. He would be a punishing lead blocker for Stew around the goal line and in short yardage situations.

Don't forget about Pollifrone either. He may get lost in the mix, between Stew and Kimbrough. He's a hard nosed versatle player.

Hopefully Muntean can pick up and build upon where he left off last year. Wess, Kimbrough, Stew, Dozzi, Tae... he'll have some hands to work with. Tameko has some size and speed to go with it. He may emerge as a target too.

I've also heard that Anthony Lariccia is considering playing this year. He could step in and fill the void at strong safety, and play slot WR too.

I have a lot of faith in these coaches. I'm just curious to see what the OLine looks like, as well as the base D.

The DL returns 7 experienced players from last year. They return 4 or 5 LBs with experience, and at least 4 experienced DBs.

I like Kimbrough as the QB in the Wildcat and the Pistol, and I really like him as a split end and an intermediate/deep threat in the passing game... but I'm not
100% sold on him as a RB in the I or anything like that. It is worth a shot to try him out at RB in practice and the scrimmages. If it works out, great. If it doesn't, don't force him into it. Ya know? He's never played RB before. He's always been the QB or a WR. He's not Jermayne... he's not as elusive, and he's not as fast. I do think he is more physical than Jermayne though. He doesn't shy away from contact. he will also return kicks and play DB too.

Does anyone have the scoop on what happened to Henricksen? The story I got didn't make any sense.

And don't think that Stew has forgotten about that whole scene 2 years ago either...
