If you want to compare him to Troy, I think you have to look at Troy's sophomore year. He was 68/122 (55.7%) for 896 yards and 8 TDs. He also ran for 339 and 2 TDs. Miller is currently 33/63 (52.4%) for 492 yards and 6 TDs while running for 342 and 2 TDs.

They aren't going to have Miller toss the ball 20+ times a game. That's just not the game plan for him as of yet.

As far as Pryor vs Miller, I think a lot of you are comparing Pryor's overall body of work to the 7 games Miller has played, 5 as a starter. IMO, Miller has all the tools to be better than Pryor. I see him in a Troy Smith mold. With an actual QB coach and OC, he'll be a very good one in the future.

IMO, he's much more in the mold of Smith than Pryor, in every aspect of his game. For him to have the presence of mind Saturday night to not only know where the line of scrimmage was, but to continue to look downfield when his first instinct was to tuck the ball away and run, and then to throw a perfect ball across his body 40 yards for the game winning TD...wow

They might this week should they get the game in hand early.

Good thing our QB coach has these amazing credentials!

*1 year as a QB coach prior to OSU (at powerhouse North Carolina A&T)
*Spent most of his career as a video assist and receivers/tight end coach

Yeah, I like Braxton's chances of progressing under such divine pedigree ... let's clean house!

I think no matter who the coach is, a lot of the out of place YSU guys are gone.

Chris fields is awful. Posey would help this team out a ton.

Miller has better mechanics now than Pryor had last year. Miller is a better runner now than Troy Smith ever was.

After watching Denard for almost 3 years now I am not sold on this type of QB. It seems rare that kids who are not great passers can play a whole season without throwing a huge int. Both can run Denard is clearly a better runner and it looks like braxton might be a better passer but I don't see either leading a team to an undefeated season, to many mistakes and risks for injury IMO.

From my couch, Braxton looks great.

I said last year while he was in HS that he was already a better QB than TP.

I was never a big fan of TP. Was he good? Of course, but he was not a "GREAT" QB...

Braxton has much better throwing mechanics, but he's also got a bit more agility to his runs. His cuts and jukes rival a legit scatback.

I watched him a couple of times in HS and know what he brings with his arm. You could tell his first couple of games that he may have been a bit too nervous. He was gripping the ball too tight and throwing some ducks..

He threw some tight spirals in that Wisky game, including a laser to Stoneburner who eventually dropped the pass.

And you were wrong, and remain so today.

I hate Pryor more than any two people whom I know, but Pryor is a better QB. I hope and pray that Miller will be a better one, but there simply is no comparison right now.

Miller doesn't look great. Not at all. He looks agile as a mother freaker and has an absolute cannon...but he's no Jon Elway just yet chief.

No, but then again I didn't say Pryor was great either. Pryor's ability to break arm tackles in the backfield and speed are what made him a solid college quarterback. He couldn't really throw well when you actually broke it down, and his acceleration didn't impress me. He was pretty freaking hard to tackle though. I'm interested in seeing how that skill set plays out in the NFL. Lord knows Tebow's ramming run style and inaccurate passes meant jackshit; I think Pryor will do much better than Tebow though.

Miller was one of the top quarterbacks in the country coming out of HS, and he is playing like that. I think his ceiling is higher than Pryor's, so it'll all depend on his learning curve. I don't think I'd be a troll to say that OSU's quarterback coach should be flipping burgers and they will want to get a guy in there who knows what he's doing if they're going to contend for national championships over the next three seasons (barring NCAA restrictions) with this stud.

Miller has two things going for him right now, in my eyes alone.

1) He is from Ohio, knows what Ohio State means to millions of people in this state, and didn't commit to play at "the University of Ohio State." I expect him to carry the flag, so to speak, with more pride (and honor?) than Pryor.

2) He hasn't has an "everybody kills people" moment, and doesn't reek of arrogance like Pryor. I really liked the "deer in the headlights" look when he was put on camera after that miracle finish. If nothing else he looked humble.

Perhaps you could have articulated it better, but that's the truth. Compare who Pryor had last year vs who Miller has this year. Part of the reason the passing game is a smaller part of the offense may be that the receivers are mostly inexperienced underclassman as well.

anybody who says Miller is a better QB right now than Pryor ever was is just a senile, blind hater. You do realize before all of the suspensions and all that, Pryor had a chance to become the all time winning-est QB in D1 history..right?!?!? His WR's were never all that great, either.

I hope Miller ends up better than him for the sake of OSU football..but come on. Miller has thrown maybe 2 spirals all year (and yes, that is an exaggeration)

Agreed 100%.

Pryor had some sick plays when he was a Frosh too. One I remember the most was at Illinois I believe. He was sprinting towards the sideline and threw the ball back across his body for a TD

I agree with you, but.......Terrelle Pryor's receivers were:

Jake Ballard - Pro
Brian Hartline - Pro
Brian Robiskie - Pro
Dane Sanzenbacher - Pro

The first 3 were late in their college careers, and established already.

Just tired of watching this offense period, regardless if it is Pryor or Miller.
Quarterback drops back, receivers run around on broken routes, quarterback runs his ass off trying to gain yardage!

This is not a major college offense, but what we have had to watch. Having said that... Go Bucks!

nice to see this kind of progress

http://www.elevenwarriors.com/2011/11/fickell-presser-notes-indiana-week
... Before Braxton led the game-winning charge, he told Fickell "We got this." He said that's the confidence the coaching staff has tried to instill in him this year.
