I grew up in Ohio..never once did I ever see a 100% german person. German ancestry, sure, whatever...but Germans? Nahhhh

I too grew up in Ohio and know several people that were 1st generation German Immigrants.

Also, look it up yourself. Most reports say 30% German, which is twice as much as the next ethnic group (Irish). Therefore, it is the majority.

30% wouldn't make it the majority, it would make it the most common group of immigrants. It would have to be >50% to be the majority.

One of the definitions is the greater part of a number. 30% is the biggest number, so it's the greatest part of the number of 100%
