That is Bonifant. And he lives just a few miles down the road. Probably would want royalties to name it after him.wes_mantooth;937311 wrote:Bonifet's imported coffee house

There is a place called that here in New Zealand, always thought it made sense. Short, but sums it up rather nicely.

Interesting. What kind of shop is it? The one I am buying for my wife is mainly a drive thru. You can walk in and order but little room to sit down. Outside tables are there but that is seasonal. My wife has been looking for something simple and to the point.cbus4life;937415 wrote:Fuel

They aren't drive-thrus, but mostly places people stop at when walking to work. I think a few have some nice seating and the like, but i get the impression it is more like an "on-the-go" sort of place. I'm only aware of the few i see on my walk to work, though, there are some others.
Idk, i'm just partial to a short name that doesn't sound too incredibly gay.
There is another set of coffee shops here called "Mojo." Always thought that worked well also.

Blow Java
Then people can also talk freely about it in professional settings and say, "No boss, I was just telling my co-worker here how great it was that Susan began the day by giving me a Blow Java before work."

Me too. Our definitions of simple and to the point and gay differ at times. Its been a source of tension between my wife and I over this. Nothing major we have been together long enough we understand each other. If my veto is necessary she will accept it. She has to come to a decision soon to get the LLC and legal crap rolling. I told her I trust her to make a good decision. She is very creative. I will at this point only veto something incredibly gay. I am sure we will have something by the end of the week.cbus4life;937424 wrote:Idk, i'm just partial to a short name that doesn't sound too incredibly gay.

Why not just open up a chewing gum shop and NOT call it something like "Gum In Your Mouth" or "The Gumshot"?majorspark;937433 wrote:Blow Java is not on the short list. Sorry. LOL!

I think all of those could have interesting branding and graphic design as far as a logo/overall brand design goes.
By the way, pay a decent designer to do the branding stuff. It'll work out better in the long run.
Obviously the coffee and drinks being quality is of first importance but take this example from Akron. http://www.therailburger.com/
Sure the food is great but beyond that the branding and design make this place stand out.

Why not? Non-profit doesn't mean it isn't a business. Just means the profits go to a charity or the like.majorspark;936270 wrote:No that is the competition in town, "Jitters". They are a non profit that donates a portion of their proceeds to Christian based charities. They receive donations for some of their operating expenses. Of course tax breaks. And have tried to get local advertisers to give them time or discounts because they are not profit. The previous owner has a contractual agreement with a local supplier that distributes a higher quality coffee. She has a contract that no one can sell that coffee in the county without her permission. She would allow my wife to purchase this coffee. Jitters has tried to purchase it but was told no. Though a non profit they appear to be competitive in getting business in the area. Running expensive full page adds in the newspapers and radio ads. A non profit should not use the tax advantages it gets and then compete in the free market against those that don't get the same. Not exactly fair IMO.

That they don't pay taxes on the "profits" gives them a built in pricing advantage over a for-profit business.I Wear Pants;937536 wrote:Why not? Non-profit doesn't mean it isn't a business. Just means the profits go to a charity or the like.

If you're around Amish you could try something in Dutch.
Like: Koffie
It's different yet everyone would still recognize it as "coffee".
