I was a Pacers fan growing up, so New York was always enemy No. 1, but I've always secretly wished I would have been a Knicks fan. I love watching games played at MSG and the franchise has produced so many thrilling moments over the years, especially during the '90s with the LJ and Ewing-led teams. (Although, so did Uncle Reggie:))

LOL. I liked Reggie except for being a Knick-killer. Those teams made me a Knicks fan. Oak, Mason, Starks, Ewing. I loved the physicality and they never backed down. Never really could get past the Bulls though and that Game 7 performance by Starks in the 1994 NBA Finals still makes me sick. Starks was my dude though.

Agreed on Starks. I had a lot of respect for him. He played the same brash game as Reggie. He was the man. I've never seen a more streaky shooter in all of basketball, but Starks took the phrase "in the zone" to a new level on those nights when everything was falling. What I wouldn't give to see Reggie and Starks go at it one more time. That was the peak of the NBA.

Could not agree more. I miss those days. Although this Linsanity stuff is pretty cool. LOL

Anybody know..

Can the KU/Mizzou game this Saturday get moved back to a night game if it's picked up for Gameday? It's currently set for 4 pm, but there are no other great games Saturday (next best is prolly UNC @ UVA) so its gotta be the Gameday matchup, right?

Feb 25 Storrs, Conn. 10 a.m. & 8 p.m. Syracuse at Connecticut 9 p.m.

The match-ups were picked in August and I don't think the schedule gets flexed during the season. Also, Missouri - Kansas is a CBS game, so ESPN wouldn't send Gameday there anyway.

Yeah, unlike football they dont choose the dates in season. They make the schedule beforehand.

I think they did for the Duke-North Carolina Game Day on March 3. I remember hearing Jay Bilas say that they weren't sure whether Game Day would be in Durham or Texas-Kansas, or some other matchup. Then they stated a week or so go that the decision had been made to -- big surprise -- hold Game Day in Durham.

Yeah when researching my question I found that the last weekend of the year is the only weekend they'll flex for gameday, and like you said it was between Duke/UNC or UT/KU...easy choice there lol

UT sucks, and after that first Duke/UNC game, it was a no brainer.

Yeah I'm guessing as soon as the Rivers three went through the net the Game Day bus was already driving to Durham lol.

reclegend22;1087284 wrote:There are so many positive things about this video. The 7-16 record in bold print next to Tar Heels is obviously so precious that it's value cannot be determined, but the way the announcers (Mike Patrick and Brad Daugherty) make Ohio, who is visiting the Dean E. Smith Center on a string of like no tournament appearances in over a decade, out to be the 1989 Bad Boy Pistons is just too funny.

I think chicago510 summed up the frustrations of 8 and 20 pretty damn well. Lol.

(As an aside, I really miss Brad Daughtery as a college basketball announcer. A former Heel he may be, but he was damn good at what he did. Too bad he left the game to watch cars drive around in traffic.)

I mean, it's not as big as beating the Hoyas in the tourney a couple years ago, but still very nice!
This game was 10 years ago today, so I'm forcing everyone to relive it once again.

Edit: Hmm, that is interesting. UNC and Ohio have different dates for the game.

Texas and UCONN have to win tonight over Baylor and Villanova, respectively.

Especially Tejas; they lose, they're toast.

Big bubble games tonight. A lot of chances for statement wins against top 20 teams.

Xavier @ UMass
Seton Hall hosts Georgetown
Northwestern hosts Michigan
NC State hosts UNC
Miami @ Maryland
Mississippi State hosts Kentucky
Colorado State hosts New Mexico

Kansas State @ Missouri as well. They probably aren't really on the bubble at this point, at least not compared to the above teams, but they could 100% lock up a bid with a win tonight.

Thanks for reposting reminders of the 8-20 season, jughead. Reps.

That shot last night for UConn was gutsy. Napier pulled up from 35 feet with almost four seconds left. It was like he was playing at Rucker Park and just felt it. I hate UConn, but great finish.

ESPN reporting that Jim Calhoun will remain removed from the team due to severe back pain, but that (and this is me paraphrasing), if UConn ends up making the NCAA Tournament, he will be back for another run at a national championship.

Seriously, if you're in that much physical distress, and by all counts with spinal stenosis and various strains of cancer Calhoun most certainly is, you need to take a serious absence from the game. Much like Steve Lavin decided to do this year to get his overall health back to at least some semblance of order.

K-State up 10 on Mizzou at the half.
Seton Hall up 7 on Georgetown.
Xavier down 5 to UMass.

To add to your list of scores, Carolina looking to push NC State over the tournament cliff tonight in Raleigh. Heels up 28 to 18 midway through the first half.

If the Wolves don't come back and win, their season is effectively over -- unless they should make a miraculous run and win the ACC in Atlanta. That one Thursday night in Durham is going to haunt Mike Gottfried and the red and white faithful like a plague until next winter.

In a massive upset brewing, Binghamton (0-26, 0-13 in the America East) is up 11 over Vermont 19-10, 12-2 as the America East leader). This would be the biggest upset of the year...
