He'll be a good candidate for the Pacers.

Butler giving #8 Xavier all it can handle in Hinkle. On a major run, having cut a one-time 18-point Musketeer lead to four with 13 minutes to play. This one's on ESPN.

Well, the lead went back to 13 with 10 minutes left, and is now down to eight with under eight to play. Xavier doing just enough to stem Butler's big runs.

Illinois seems to struggle to break 50 every 3rd game.

UNC is down 45-40 at half to Long Beach St.

LBSU is only 4-4, but they won @ Pitt earlier this year (snapped Pitt's enormous non-conference home winning streak), only lost by 4 @ San Diego St, 8 @ Kansas, and 13 @ Louisville. Pretty solid team in the Big West.

sleeper may get his wish....UNC could drop out of the top ten if they manage to lose this one.

UNC pulls out the 6 point win, 84-78. Looks like the freshmen for UNC struggled.

The Ohio Bobcats are 7-1 for the first time since the 1969-70 season after beating Portland 72-54.

Seems hard to believe with all the talent they had on the floor in the early 90s.

BTW, DJ Cooper picks up his first career triple double with 14 points, 10 boards, and 10 assists. He is a 5'11" PG, mind you.

Is UK going to get Khem Birch from Pitt? Rumors are he's not happy at Pitt and wants to come to UK. Be kinda dumb for him to do that and chances are probably slim of him actually coming to UK.

If they do get Birch, I wonder how long he would have to sit? Harrow (NC St) will get to play for UK next year, Vargas (UF transfer) will be gone, and Beckham (Miss St transfer) can play real soon this year/Jan I believe.

Just saw that. It looks almost certain he's done at Pittsburgh. Whether he comes to UK remains to be seen. He would indeed be eligible second semester next year. Even with defections, if UK were to add Shabazz, Bennett OR Stokes, possibly a combination of them, plus Harrow, Birch and the incoming class, wow.

A lot of intriguing matchups coming up today.

Gonzaga/Arizona, Syracuse/NC State, Memphis/Louisville, and UNLV/Illinois.

Baylor/BYU is a great game going on right now. I am definitely more interested than normal as Baylor was +4 at BYU...and have my biggest best of the season on this game. Will probably determine the rest of my weekend in-terms of spending on entertainment haha. Baylor up 1 with 10 left, 65-64.

Defensive skills are fundamentals that are taught at a young age. It's about moving your feet, anticipating the opponent's next move and using your length, height and hands to make an impact. Almost every player has been taught this at some point, just like they were taught how to dribble, shoot, pass and move. Most of the time it has to do with how much effort you apply to it.

Butler wins a ton of those like that, last second buckets.
Purdue is kinda disappointing. Gave Bama a decent game for a time but Bama has taken somewhat of a dive since.

Belmont has been a disappointment. Losses to MTSU, Miami (OH), and now Marshall in 3 of their last 4 games. Only 7-5 on the season for a team that was 30-5 last year and brought back 6 of their top 7 scorers.

Kansas down 3 to Davidson with 8 to go and Marquette only up 1 on LSU with 3 minutes left.

LSU up 5 with a minute left. Kansas isn't closing the door like it looked like they were going to and run away with in late in the 1st half. Could have ourselves some under-the-radar upsets tonight...

LSU knocks Marquette from the ranks of the unbeaten with a 67-59 win. Six unbeaten teams remain.

Louisville
Syracuse
Murray State
Baylor
Indiana
Missouri

Louisville has Georgetown at home and Kentucky on the road next week.
Indiana has Michigan State on the road and Indiana at home next week.
Missouri has Illinois at home this weekend.
Baylor is at West Virginia this week and vs Mississippi State next week.

Murray State and Syracuse look pretty secure for a while going forward.
