Bobcat... I think the only point that's being clearly articulated by your posts is that you're looking to stir up trouble for Coach West. I always laugh when someone references "rumbling in the crowd" as some form of validation of their point. Your vague allusions and subjective observations don't add up to a solid argument and, realizing this, you assure the readers that "other people feel this way too." I think I'd have some respect for your opinion if you just owned up to the true nature of your gripe against the coach. Did he not play your kid enough? Kick your dog? One can only speculate, I guess... but it's obvious that your position stems from something more than just well-intentioned concern.
Unless I'm missing something here... we're talking about a four-loss regular season? I don't care how athletic your team is, or how many basketball players you roll onto the floor... that's a pretty darn good season. I've coached 19-1 teams that SHOULD have been 16-4... and 16-4 teams that SHOULD have been 19-1. It's a long season, and the pervasive variable is 15-18 year old young men. That's not a stellar recipe for consistent performance. The VAST majority of varsity programs in the state of Ohio won't reach 16 wins... and that same majority of varsity coaches would strongly consider which body parts they can do without in exchange for a 16 win season.
In an earlier post you referenced your non-professional level of knowledge regarding the game of basketball... yet go on to speculate as to why there are no "adjustments" being made. Knowing the quality of your coach (and speaking from 19 years of HS coaching experience... he is a quality coach) I'm sure that he is carefully measuring the changes that can be made within the constraints of what has gotten him to A 16 WIN SEASON. A 400+ win varsity coach told me that you can't coach the last game you played... you have to coach to the one you're playing next. The "simple" solution of changing what you do to react to a loss is fool's gold AT BEST. The implication that all of your dreams for Norwayne basketball will be realized if you only had a different coach... well, that falls into the fool's gold category as well. We all operate differently... and no coach can be all things for all players. He's got good rapport with the kids, he's disciplined, tough and consistent... and he's winning with football players that had NO PRESEASON... yep, time to look elsewhere, I guess.
It never ceases to amaze me the sense of entitlement generated by a paid admission. I'm sure if I dropped 5 bucks on the secretary's desk to come and watch you work on twenty occasions that I could find plenty about you to criticize... both personally and professionally. It's obvious that Brian West is not employed as a coach to make you happy... because he's accomplishing everything that a coach is supposed to accomplish, and you're still not happy. The truth of the matter is this... players quit or graduate, and their parents move on... Coach West will still be there, doing a good job, until he's good and ready to make a change on his own terms. Maybe then, if you've been really good, Coach K will be ready to accept this primo head coaching position and take Norwayne basketball to the promised land.

After teams played against us and winning becomes more about adjustments and strategy we have started to lose a couple and play many closer games.
I do give Dalton a lot of credit. I think it's amazing that they won the league. I'm still shocked that they were able to beat Hillsdale twice. They have some nice athletes but I still think Hillsdale is a better team. I'm not taking anything away from them it's just my opinion. I missed the Norwayne game at Dalton nut I heard we were horrible.
It would be interesting to hear from some of the parents of the players on here about what they think about the coaching but I'm sure it would be tempered a little. I do know that I am not the only non parent who feels like this. If you sit and listen to the crowd you can here a lot of rumbling.....and we're winning
